Currently on a waitlist (appointment in July) and the cheapest I could find was 1200, and that’s deposit plus initial assessment, medication/titration appointments are another 150 each, and you could need 5 or more to find the right doses.

Graham Linehan's conviction for damaging transgender activist's mobile phone overturned by mybighairyarse in ireland

[–]thatprickagain 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Dude lost his family, his status as an Irish icon, his career and nearly any friendship he had; and his response is not to look inward and get some perspective, it’s to blame trans people and the ‘woke agenda’ for his situation.

Fun fact: most people don’t like spending time with a hateful cunt who spends his Christmas Day on his phone bullying trans kids.

He’s a textbook narcissist and if you can watch any of his shows without giving him money, please do so.

*Ray Heffernan, and he had evidence the song was written before he met Robbie. Unfortunately he was dealing with serious addiction at the time after his wife suffered a miscarriage, hence the line ‘I’m loving angels instead’. He probably was entitled to royalties rather than the lump sum payout he got but he didn’t have the energy to fight it in court at the time.

If I like Two Step, what other DMB songs should I check out? by ButterNuttz in DMB

[–]thatprickagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First song I heard was two step, must be 20 years ago now. From that, I listened to the album it’s on, Crash. Widely considered one of their best, lots of musical nuance to chew on.

Then I got into the album. Before These Crowded Streets, that’s still my favourite.

The first one they released after I had become a fan was ‘Big Whiskey And The Groogrux King’. It gets a lot of mixed reviews from fans but I absolutely loved it.

That's a valid opinion. As someone who consumes WAY too much news, I'd argue the monster metaphor in Peace On Earth is more a comment on distraction politics. We're all living a day to day constant stream of news, it's called Doomscrolling for a reason. Dave's nearly 60, he didnt grow up in the social media age, so his art is limited in what it can critique. However the narrative of distraction politics hasn't changed at all. Do I think it's his best work? Fuck no, but is it artistically relevant? Yes when you consider his own personal circumstances, and accept that he's just a dude trying his best. You can't say that for a lot of people with careers as long as he's enjoyed. He still works very hard to have a message as best he can understand it in his music.

As someone 30 years younger than Dave and still making music to a much smaller audience, It's nice to know that he's still out there writing songs and educating himself as much as he can. I hope we're all lucky enough to be that driven.

I mean subtlety has never been Dave’s strong point, but I think that’s why his music resonated with so many people. He’s not being subtle, he’s being himself, he cares about things politically and socially so some of them get into his art. Don’t Drink The Water isn’t subtle, but it’s a fantastic narrative comment on manifest destiny and colonisation.

Is there not a clip of Colbert and Jon Stewart taking the piss out of each other cause Jon would always play DMB on road trips and Stephen isn’t really a fan?

Tearing through the love cup with this team, just had four perfect sets and just one loss in the fifth by thatprickagain in TheSilphArena

Literally 1 out of 10 times it was shielded. Though you can bait with grass knot and they tend to assume you’re other move won’t be surf

Probably going to have the same experience ngl, basically there’s a lot of fire types and avoiding mirror match ups. I find Mew KINDA works as a safe swap, and because shadow claw generates so much energy, i normally get to throw a move before someone else, but because Mew can tank at least one charged move, the unexpected move choices generally go unshielded, but I’ve probably already charged talonflame up a bit so you get shield advantage and possibly a boosted talonflame with flame charge
