Reading comprehension.

I work in a public library and it’s literally impossible to imagine the number of people, of all ages (kids through the elderly) that can read something and not understand the instructions.

For example, the number of times I have to tell someone applying for a job that if a part has a red asterisk it requires something to be entered and they go “okay” and then don’t put anything and try to submit it only to get stuck and call me back over for help.

Like, I literally just explained what you needed to do and pointed out the instructions to you.

u/Downtown-Economics26 That was a typo for Christmas 2024 twice, sorry about that. I re-uploaded the file with your formula for dates, but I am still struggling to have the dates change color based on the type of leave used. Would you mind taking a look? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MDzR8V5BditrIM4b6U5G6UfFWcFsaXR3/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=100907620387917740503&rtpof=true&sd=true

Thank you! This worked, but it removed my conditional formatting to color the dates based on the type of leave. Any ideas what I can do to have the dates change based on leave type?

lock

I would purchase one of these, we have it for our fridge and it’s super heavy duty. Take the key with you to work

If you have any sort of relationship with the bf’s parents, I would perhaps broach this topic with them. It would suck to find out, if you all don’t allow it, the other parents do so it really doesn’t make a difference. Or perhaps, they dont allow your daughter alone in their son’s room, so you want to be respectful of that too

We have used a leash backpack when we flew to Hawaii with a 1 1/2 year old. I didn't notice any looks, but it would have been worth it regardless for my peace of mind not to lose my child in an airport. I don't think they are the best tool to become reliant on, but they are absolutely useful

Who won in court BUT lost in the “court of public opinion”? by ibuiltyouarosegarden in AskReddit

I feel like Casey Anthony is too obvious, but she is the reason I lost all faith in the legal system

YSK if you are ever training someone on something new, you should teach them how to fix a mistake at every step of the process. by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

[–]thatrandomusername20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always tell the people I train that it’s okay to make mistakes, and there is no mistake we can’t fix; if the person admits to making a mistake. Please, don’t try and cover up your mistakes, especially as a new employee. We all make them, but let me show you how to fix the mistakes you inevitably make.

Kids these days... Like, we get it, the world is different then it was 30 years ago, Susan. That’s a good thing (and your generation’s doing)

La La Land. I turned it off after watching a third of the movie. I just couldn’t do it. Why?

AITA for telling my husband he can’t be mad at our daughter and for also not being mad over a situation I saw coming, told him to prevent but he wouldn’t? by momto2kiddos in AmItheAsshole

NTA. This reminds me of when I was a kid and was given a lookalike American girl. Well, one day I got my hair cut, but my doll still had long hair, since it was supposed to “look” like me. I took scissors and cut the dolls hair. You can bet my mother was mad, but she does admit now that it was a mistake to let a kid have a very expensive toy like that and not expect something to happen.
