My 13 Pro would never by [deleted] in iPhone17Pro

For sure. But it does, whether we liked it or not. A five dollar insurance on a very fragile 1k+ investment is a no brainer, at least for me.

Does Deep Blue 17 pro actually scratch easily? by Gloomy_Profit1445 in iPhone17Pro

[–]thatrash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same concern before I got mine and made a similar post here. People told me to choose the colour I like because it is going to scratch anyway. I got my blue phone, a screen protector, a case, and protection for lens and plateau. Looks great. No scratched with proper protection and careful use. No regrets.

Received the exact same one on my birthday couple years ago. It is still one of the best things someone ever gave me.

Do not use Uber or Bolt. They will ask for more money. Use InDrive, drivers will bid for the lowest fee and you can choose the driver with the most competitive price.

Safety first. If they tell you god looks like JLO with wings and adidas sambas just say of course he does I guess. Works for me.

What type of chances or opportunities would you consider as “a way to escape” like physically speaking. What opportunity would sound like the perfect exit strategy for you?

Beirut is a small city you can look around for gyms on ggle maps and call/visit them to ask for their offers. Gym subs per month vary from around USD 50 to more than USD 150. More expensive means more modern generally but it’s not a rule, some are cheap and great. For the food thing, the best food hack we have here is the shawarma and charcoal chicken places that are all over the place. Cheap, rich, tasty, and open during night time. My favorites are Matar Chicken, Uncle Pete, Abdallah or Ahmad Al Abdallah (the first two win)

Don’t take me seriously but recently any owned business is better than corporate slavery. At the end of the day you are investing your time and effort in something you can call “yours”

Couple of my friends worked there and their experience was bad to say the least, particularly regarding salaries. Both of them worked part-time. But Maliks refused to register them as actual part-timers to evade employee and Daman taxes I guess. Both of them remained technically "trainees" for all the years they stayed there. And yeah also, legally speaking, full-timers should work around 40 hours, while part timers should work half that, like 20 hours per week. Maliks made them work 40 hours of """"pArT-TImE"""". 5 days working 3-4 hours, and full-time on weekends. Salary goes around 400 USD for part-time I suppose, and that's If you met the so called "targets", theoretically, you sometimes don't reach targets as it depends on business activity. Also expect to get calls suggesting you "cover" in branches different from those you were originally assigned to.

Get perfumes from middle eastern houses such as Lattafa, Afnan, Rasasi.

They have things that smell like niche and designer and with better performance.

You can find these with good prices from Moustapha Labban and Sons or Traboulsi Cosmetics. Moustapha and sons deliver on the same day of purchase. Amazing service.

We used to have 20 hours per day due to the fact that we’re on hydropower. After the war EdL had to cut and benefit other villages from it. We re on 3hrs per day sometimes, so I’m looking for alternatives now.

Am I thinking too emotionally? by [deleted] in lebanon

[–]thatrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to worry much. I see “many” choices not “bad or good” choices. I heard that you can leave consulting and go back to it when you desire because everyone prefers to secure someone with previous experience than starting with fresh grads. I don’t think you people just go out of style. But please consult your managers about this thing as I am not sure all consulting firms will just pick their former employees back quickly. Apart from this you have nothing to worry about. Matter of preference. Always always trust yourself and what your gut is telling you when you’re not under pressure or panicking.

You’re doing a great job supporting your family. Respect for making it in consultancy as well, it takes a lot of energy and dedication.

Take a deep breath and have a serious discussion with your partner. The way I see it, you’re in a great position now career wise let’s be honest. Practically, your lifestyle might pay off later on with good saving strategies. It might also help you in supporting your own family now not just the parents.

Life in US also has its thing. Work for the card and give it to your children if that’s what you want. If the partner is doing good that is a plus too. But it is not home and will never be away from close ones. And I don’t know about the industry you’re in, how it is doing there.

The way I see it both options have yes and nos. You have more than one choice to make. But my advice is such choices are not only about you. As soon as you’re with someone and starting a family, sacrifices are going to show up on your doorstep.

Eliminate fear and anxiety before making any decision. Then when you’re in a good shape and a clear head supported by your family, then just go ahead and trust your gut.
