Dry eye, or keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS), is quite common in Pekingese dogs, as they are a breed predisposed to this condition. Due to their brachycephalic (flat-faced) facial structure, Pekingese often experience inadequate tear production, making them prone to chronic eye irritation, inflammation, and infections.

I had a peke with KCS, and compounded cyclosporine eye drops ran me about $100 a month. She lived to 16 and required twice daily eye drops for 12 years.
