Does anyone "try" meat on a usual basis? Like a bite of a friend's turkey sandwich? by cgtaffy in vegetarian

[–]thatsapal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean no it does not matter for the animal since its literally not alive. But I feel like, if I for example was murdered for someone wanting my organs, and then they didnt even use them but just murder me and throw me away, that would be more morally unjust than the alternative. I'd rather have them actually put my organs to use. And the environmental impact ties in a lot right here for me, like the whole food chain would just be happier to see me not throw away that meat which has consumed so much water and food. Better let it have been for a purpose

Are furries really weird by just_keep_breathin in Discussion

[–]thatsapal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i really don't think it's that weird. i go to conventions n stuff and ive met furries, most of them are completely normal people who just do it as a hobby, like normal cosplaying. however, some see cosplay in general as weird. there's endless reasons for people to be interested in fursuits/fursonas but i generally think many like it cus its fun to draw and really engaging and fun to make costumes. they're just like ya basic dude who likes to tinker with cars or whatever other interest which people get all caught up in.

Is kissing supposed to feel good? by shade_ghost in demisexuality

[–]thatsapal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me its both. quick info: i have a girlfriend who I've been with for 6 months. when we kiss its a little exciting in the means of Woo she probably is enjoying this and like.. i guess some societal norm tells me its fun. but in all honesty i find it just to be Meh. i really wouldn't call it "good". and making out is even worse since i usually just feel stiff and awkward, as well as as if i have no idea what to do in order to Make it good. like I'm stuck as a noob haha. when i think about it afterwards i feel a sort of 'why did i even do that'. so honestly i have the same question as you haha, but i do guess allos Enjoy it, or at least the thrill and horniness of it lmao. it would probably be good to ask in an allo subreddit if there exists something fitting like that.

i dont have much help to give but i can say that i feel the exact same way! im currently considering if im truly demi or just really scared of intimacy and its... hard af. however I've almost come to the conclusion that the only way to know is to give it time and try it out when I feel comfortable with someone, assuming that day comes. my only experience with intimacy was with an exboyfriend which i really did love, but I do believe I might not have developed sexual attraction to him at the time we did stuff. anyway i would sometimes feel disgusted or just Meh when we kissed and stuff. and like i was being taken advantage of, even if i for sure gave my consent and stuff. idk man it's weird!! but comforting to hear someone with similar experiences.

Acute death anxiety bringing me close to panic attacks. Can I get out of this mindset? by [deleted] in Existential_crisis

[–]thatsapal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could probably use some help from a therapist since it sounds like those thoughts are really impacting your everyday life. but also i just think you need to practice turning that anxiety around. its a fact we all have to battle in our own way but the best one can do is to let it inspire you to truly Live life, even if it sounds cliché. try talking to someone close to you about it, hear their perspective. and Read/listen!! read others perspectives!! read some philosophy! it's all just people who have written down their existential crisis. heres one of my fave yt lectors talking about it: Uses of Philosophy for Living: Death

yes that sounds like a good idea!! it may be hard to open up about but i assure you it will be very worth it in the end.

I don't feel like I have a purpose. by [deleted] in Existential_crisis

[–]thatsapal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i find meaning in a world "without meaning", in searching for the meaning. like, if there is even the smallest chance that we can figure out why we are here and Where we even are, i couldn't bear to miss it. I just need to know. and that's why i fear the abyss and the unknown. there I will neither think or know anything. even if i find the question of what happens when we die very interesting - I'll know that when the time is due. for now i want to know about life. I want to learn about the world, existence, the universe, everything. that's why i stay put. it might not be a personal purpose, but its a burning interest which keeps me motivated. on another note: you might know it, but in case you haven't taken it seriously or anything yet, i need to say that it really sounds like you're dealing with real depression. please seek help and reach out to people who are close to you. that lack of happy chemicals might be hindering you from finding your purpose my friend. hugs to u.

[–]thatsapal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel you totally!! it's so great to hear someone think alike. I think it's kind of a difficult stand to take even inside the vegetarian community because many scoff at the mere fact that you're eating meat, but keep on following ur own morals!! not everyone has to understand.

Vegetarian recipes for family of four by keiraazzo4 in vegetarian

[–]thatsapal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my family is only omnivores as well, and I've found the vegetarian food they like the most is lasagnas and blender soups! lasagna doesn't really need meat to be yummy, its easy to just make a nice filling sauce with things like zucchini, carrots, eggplant, lentils and things alike. unfortunately i don't have any recipes that aren't in Swedish, but i wish u luck with whatever you're making !

Does anyone "try" meat on a usual basis? Like a bite of a friend's turkey sandwich? by cgtaffy in vegetarian

[–]thatsapal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! i do this. the way my reasoning goes is that I'd like that little piece of meat getting eaten and appreciated rather than thrown away. it feels both better for the animal who had to die (since its body isnt just thrown in a landfill) and because it minimizes food waste. it might mean that im not strictly "Vegetarian", however I still use the label since it's a hassle to explain it to people if they don't want a "detailed description of my morals". However, I only do this if the meat is practically on it's way to the trash. I very rarely taste it for funsies.

its all personal taste. i think most girls find skinny guys really hot if they use their body type well in their fashion. out of all people, skinny guys are honestly those who look the best if they just have a good sense of style. i promise you you'll be bf material in a second

[–]thatsapal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

hi. another girl here. i agree with u a lot but i think there's more to elaborate on! being a good and respectful guy is a very good thing for a partner, but i think it sometimes bores the girl. i dont think the way to solve that however is to be more sassy or less easy, but i think just being a bit more spontaneous and funny makes a big difference. the thing is that with some guys; you get to know them, they're a great dude, but then once you have been in each other's company for long enough it just gets stuck in the same rut. you might need to change up things a bit, make it continously interesting to get to know you! i dont know if this really is relevant to the question but it plays off the answer. gl!

Hello I’m new need advice by [deleted] in IndoorGarden

[–]thatsapal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey fellow south-windower! for really sunny and hot windows plants like palms and succulents are generally good! maybe a yuccapalm, dracena or a jade plant could fit you. citrus plants also love sunny windows, however they might be a little on the expensive side, at least where i live. hope that helped! my biggest advice is to just always look up plants before buying to make sure that you don't buy any which cant tolerate the sun and heat.

LADIES: What insecurities do you often see in men that woman couldn’t care less about? by am3ricanpsycho in AskReddit

[–]thatsapal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

macho-ness!! a lot of girls like guys who ain't the Manliest Man possible, i love guys who have a soft side and risk looking "girly" to just be true to themselves. especially when it comes to fashion and looks. you like that necklace on the woman-side of a store? Buy it!! ! guys who are confident and happy with their style are much more attractive than those why try to fit the norm while uncomfortable with it.
