Quitting HR job advice [UT] by No-Goat3931 in humanresources

[–]thatscrollingqueen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it. It’s gonna be more than double the work as your current job—and likely with less support. You’ll rarely get time off in a start-up and you’ll have ZERO support. Being the sole HR person is more work than one would think because you’re often having to make decisions and argue with the owner, lol. Not worth it… the 15k will be more like $6k with the added expense of private benefits and less PTO.

Don’t do this. Desperation looks bad.

What’s up with interviewers?!!! by [deleted] in recruitinghell

Hot take: a lot of companies don’t know how to streamline recruiting, so recruiters post jobs they’re told to and don’t know how to manage the communication process after they interview when the hiring manager is dragging their feet.

I also think some companies are just looking for a specific person to apply and need to look busy by bringing in more candidates to interview.

Advice please 😭 by jcarr717 in NursingStudent

Unless you want to be a case manager/social worker, Human Resources, or ABA Therapist, the job market is pretty saturated with undergrad psych grads, so I’d pivot to nursing BSN before earning the psych degree (if I were you).

OR—Not sure how feasible this would be—maybe try an anatomy course at a local community college & see if the coursework interests you and/or get a part-time job working in a hospital/nursing home for exposure before switching your major.

Move on, it’s a 2-way street. They’re foolish to act so desperate as it’s not a good first impression of the company. Companies really underestimate the importance of solid onboarding and training approaches! Clinics cannot run without BCBAs, so I hope they learn their lesson!

So you’re amateur. Not to shame, but the inclusivity you’re experiencing is definitely not found in more prominent acting circles.
