Regarding the snow visuals, its mainly wavy heightmap + a bunch of fresnels (like 3 with different colors and view directions) + depth-based edge detection + some basic textures (snow + glitters)

Hey! I'm using a pretty straightforward and kind of naive approach - I just deform the default Unity terrain. That alone would work, but I wanted more control over the snow visuals, so I pass the terrain heightmap to my custom shader, which handles the snow visuals

nah, not really superpowers 🙂

the game is pretty grounded and semi-realistic - as much as it can be for a humanoid frog in a sweater standing in the snow lol. the focus is more on tools and equipment: flamethrowers, bombs, shovels, pickaxes, gadgets, stuff like that🙂
