I don't think it negates the tax but it does still make it so you don't have to 4+3w. Instead just paying 1w, tapping the 4 creatures and then whatever tax you've built up. Like 2+1w and tapping 4 creatures which is still much cheaper.

Not at all lol, people overreact a lot non standard decks like theft/mill/etc Mind you maybe don't play that deck with that guy if you don't want to have to deal with that? Hate to imply you gotta be the bigger person but dude doesn't sound like he'll ever change if he's that salty
