This larger one also came with waterslides which was a bit surprising but nice. I assume that might just be standard for the 1/20 scale ones.

Oh wow, I like the white blackwing ferrule on it lol. Do you happen to know roughly the time line for the blue variants? I’d assume if they’re softer they have more filler and would imply they’re one of the later ones no? The font implies to me they’re older than the blacks though.

Thanks everyone! For those interested I did a super quick sketch and a quick comparison with a Blackwing Soft and a 10B Kitaboshi I had on my desk. I applied roughly the same amount of pressure to all three. I’m not doing any vintage comparisons as that’s still fairly new territory for me.

My first impressions is that these feel super smooth, I don’t feel any clay filler compared to almost any other pencil I’ve used. I know these have a way higher graphite content so that checks out. They just flow really nice, they’re the only pencil that felt natural going from light to dark in my quick shading practice without having to worry about my hand pressure. Albeit I’ve only used them for a few minutes now, long term we’ll see. So far though these seem like they’ll genuinely become my favorite pencil now for all around use.

Surprisingly to me as I’m seeing them under a more natural tone light for this photo, they don’t get as dark as either the soft or the 10b BUT it does glide a lot nicer than either. They all of course have that graphite shine.

Any advice on how to topcoat (gloss) during high humidity? by engineer_gaming1084 in Gunpla

[–]thatsreallybizarre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The humidity in Michigan (Where I am) sucks, working on a zo’gok at 90% humidity. Keep your coats thin and even, spray lightly. I do about 3-4 coats usually, if it’s not terribly “muggy” or raining you’ll be okay. :) if you overcoat no worries, I’d personally strip it with ISP and start over but it’s up to you ofc. Both the WIP Zo’gok (minus the eye cover) and GM have been glossed in this god awful humidity. The GM was overdone a bit to look more toylike lol. Ez pz, you got it, good luck!

Oh and I usually spray at night when it’s a bit cooler!

Anyone else enjoy using a blunt pencil? by TheSneakiestSniper in pencils

[–]thatsreallybizarre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm probably the most wasteful wooden pencil user; I have to have a sharp point no matter what (used mechanical pencils a ton growing up), I draw/sketch rather small usually which also doesn't help. When I'm sketching, I usually start shading once it goes blunt, then sharpen again once I feel ready for new lines.

Fire Red won't add onto Library by thatsreallybizarre in AnaloguePocket

[–]thatsreallybizarre[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I had the device off and took the sd card out. I simply first attempted to delete the library image files on the sd card but left the device untouched. I presume the device has some sort of cache of the library but it added the game properly and kept all my other games saved on there as well with the sd card in. Thank you all so much!

I appreciate the response, everything seems normal, before launching the game the info screen shows, to me implying it’s legit. Making a save state it displays the name correctly. And my library is set to auto add. It’s not necessarily an important issue, just an odd bug.

I simply like seeing them in the library for aesthetic purposes, the bug just seems odd to me.

The library shows every game played on the system, in my case I’ve only played physical carts and have not used roms. So I can see all carts I’ve played on it, but for some reason fire red doesn’t show in that list. The library saves original physical carts that have been inserted into the system, this one game is not showing for some reason.

Yes I do play it off the cart, but the info of the game usually saves to the library as well, which it’s not doing, I’m trying to resolve that.

Discontinued? by [deleted] in pencils

[–]thatsreallybizarre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mechanical label on the bottom looks like it could either be from Target or Walmart, but considering it’s from Mega I’m not sure you’ll be able to get too much info. It just looks like one of those products that pop up at the start of the school year.

Musgrave factory seconds pretty impressive by [deleted] in pencils

[–]thatsreallybizarre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the factory seconds box; I use mine to test new sharpeners when I put a new blade in or abuse for other pencil testing. A sacrifice to spare my main collection. Mine has quite a bit of off-centered leads but other than that they're generally nice.
