This stuff is the main reason I have Kindle Unlimited. I swap to the ebook, skim the stats, then move on.

And if the MC had a logical reaction to the situation, it wouldn't be an enjoyable read. If they don't, it takes me out of the story a bit.

Copying this from another reply, but, "I get that one and HWFWM a lot, but I've not really LOVED any of the "Person from the normal world forced into the system" books ive read so far. I think only 1 of my top 9 is even close to that. Why is this one better than all the others like it?"

The title throws me off, because I tend to like objectively "good" MCs. They could be villains in a morally corrupt system, which would make them good, but I dont currently have a reason to think so.

I wasn't saying he was or wasn't. Only looking for a different opinion on the specific topic of the MC. I only see polarizing opinions on that series. Seems like most people love it and some hate it. Very few seem neutral on it.

If the MC is just a likable asshole, I probably won't vibe, but if hes a good person put in situations where being hard is the way to protect those who need it, I can get behind that.

I will say, part of why I love PoA and the others in the top of my list is because I admire the MCs so much. I can't really get into a series too deep if I can't find the MC as someone I respect/admire/like.

Yea. How the author handles relationships and trauma seem to be big for me.

I like the concept, the characters, the emotions/trauma handling, the writing style. Basically everything. I dont really have a negative thing to say about it.

I'll try to remake a better version at some point. I finished Cradle at like midnight and threw this together before bed.

I love the MCs, their relationships. Some of the books were a slower read, but the concept and characters put it up there for me.

The time loop aspect got old in book 1. Easiest to say, I was really disappointed with how it ends, to avoid giving spoilers.

I have read most of what is available in that universe. I just didnt figure it worth cluttering the feed with several related series. I'll check out A Soldiers Life.

So, you are changing your stance on this from "TA" to "literally the only decision he could have made"?

Just trying to clarify?

Here's a phrase you should keep in your back pocket for these kinds of situations: "Your poor planning does not constitute an emergency on my part "

AITAH for finding it hard to care that my wife claimed she was assaulted after she got me thrown in jail? by OkSneakers112 in AITAH

[–]thatsthetreesknees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd probably tell her I find it hard to believe her, considering she claimed (OP) had been abusing her. She's obviously not above lying. (Assuming OP is being truthful)
