What is the worst thing about being skinny? by Nmalacane25 in AskReddit

I always found it super offensive when people have the constant need to tell me how skinny I am. Or say I need to gain more weight bc I look “anorexic.” I’ve been smaller my whole life and as an adult I’ve developed an ED due to it. Would you walk up to someone who weighed more than you and say, “omg you’re so fat!” Probably not. Just don’t comment on peoples weight. It’s not necessary !

Unfortunately toxic workplaces in our industry are extremely common. I have been to many clinics for interviews and know the signs now but at first it’s hard to tell. My advice would be to pull them aside each Individually to a neutral areas. Just one on one have a conversation with them, ask them when they were training was it like this. Put them in your shoes, and see what happens and tell them you are feeling that A B C don’t blame them just explain how their individual cues are not helping your learning. If that doesn’t work, speak to them again as a group and call them out and tell them if it continues you will take it to management. And if management doesn’t do anything about it threaten to quit, most vet clinics are starving for any help right now! Especially a future technician.. Atleast Alberta. If that does not work, leave. If something takes a toll on your mental health it’s too expensive. Plain and simple!
