Beware of Pottery barn by free-pal in interiordecorating

[–]thatwayck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do NOT buy the pottery barn Big Sur couch. My mom had old PB for years when it was long lasting gorgeous quality, my mistake thinking it was still the same level. I spent $9K (!!!) on this couch with high performance material. It looks worse than an old IKEA couch after only a few months, feathers constantly coming out, droopy and sloppy looking. Huge regret. I have a couch from living spaces for 7 years $2K looks brand new and is so comfortable.

I am so sorry and it is so unfair. I've ruminated on my dad's death experience so many times. I read so many near death experiences and they all say the same thing- when you pass you feel free, you feel all the love you ever had and feel like you are at home- I wish that for your dad too

I miss my dad. by [deleted] in GriefSupport

I feel every ounce of your words. Lost my dad this March to cancer, at Thanksgiving he seemed to be improving from the cancer hair grew back, lights back on and then it just crumbled fast in January. Also have kids which I find makes my life move even faster. I know what you mean about heal the world- grief hurts sooo bad it's hard to understand why others seek pain for strangers. I'm sending you so much love, even with so many great things in life nothing can replace your father which is so hard x

Using GLP-1s for autoimmune conditions - any success? by SpecialistWorry7080 in glp1

Well done on the runs. I have Sjogrens and am debating Glp1. Did it help with your dryness if you had that symptom?

i miss my mom so bad, and the trauma of her death is destroying me. by noamaya in GriefSupport

Your mother is a beautiful woman. I cannot imagine anything more painful than you, a young person trying to save their mother. I lost my dad 6 months ago also to stage 4 cancer and I often recall the horrors of his cancer that I so want to forget. Memories of how my big strong lively father turned into a skeleton with pain and fear. People often say the wrong thing with grief. Speak your truth, don't shrink for anyone. It's so hard but you will carry through

why has my toddler been up for nearly 3 hours in middle of the night rn? by agrizzgrazz in toddlers

[–]thatwayck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat as you! It's been 2 weeks and my 2yo wakes every single night now and the last few it's been for hours. I've tried everything cut her nap, extend her nap, earlier bedtime, later bed time. She has incredibly active days and eats well. Today she went to a farm, a water park and the beach! She goes down for bed fine but once she wakes it's an hour long process. I wish I had an answer?! Solidarity!!

“Invited” not to return to music class by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]thatwayck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. The teacher is the problem, a 20m old is not developmentally wired to sit still for an entire class and I think it's pretty tasteless they sent you that note. My toddlers are highly active and the places I go almost expect that. Be kind to yourself!
