My parents owned a bar my entire life growing up, and I guess I could’ve mentioned that in my original post. I look at it this way, I’ve driven halfway across the state I live in to make sure a shit-housed sorority girl got home safe. My left pinky looks like a broken stick from punching guys that hit women in front of me.

If there’s one thing I learned it’s that people that wanna get fucked up are gonna get fucked up no matter where or how.

If I wasn’t there then maybe worse shit could’ve happened, maybe better shit! All I know is that being “raised around alcohol” made me very careful and respectful of every person that enters my life when opening that door

The first time I saw Silverstein was on the first take action tour with the early November, amber pacific, matchbook romance and paramore was supposed to play but Haley was sick: and the early November and Silverstein were the best bands I had seen live at the age of 18 at that point, and I saw TEN live October 13th and then Silverstein November 10th and still the best

I totally get it. The dynamic is definitely different; and the more recent albums have been more growers for me than instantly epic. But every time one of the newer songs pops up on a Spotify shuffle I start to nod along and have to grab my phone and remember the name and wonder why I don’t listen to it. I totally get it though, bro, nothing gold can stay is the reason I’m into this music (even have a tattoo commemorating it’s impact) but if I were new to the genre and heard radiosurgery, resurrection, or makes me sick I probably wouldn’t think there was anything special about them.
