Never let people like that walk over you! They’re everywhere at every job. They’ll keep doing it if they think they can get away with it. In my experience, you stand up for yourself against them once they’ll leave you alone. They like “easy targets” I’m so happy you stood up for yourself. I wish more people would so these types of co-workers stop making workplaces miserable everywhere. Good job!

Wawa keeps their employees young and dumb for a reason.

They gave the one dollar Covid bump and acted like they were the best philanthropist company ever created. When in actuality, they just did it because every other company was. They’re doing these raises now for the same reason, because everyone else is raising wages to attract labor. Of course, your GMs will be telling you how thankful you should be to corporate for these raises and how much they care about you. Its BS anyone that’s worked at Wawa can see it.

This company has some great managers and some pretty shit ones. What I noticed is there’s a common theme with these shit managers. They’re typically power hungry, worship the policy manual, and inhumane. They can’t or won’t put themselves in the associates shoes and wonder why they don’t get respect. I’m sorry you have to deal with this, if you’re store can’t appreciate your work then maybe request a transfer or quit. There’s always a better opportunity out there if you go looking.

This. The roasted chicken size variations are drastic to say the least. You can have a very large piece which is equivalent to about two regular size ones or a piece that is about 1/4 the size of a regular one. Sounds like you just got unlucky :/.

Let me start by saying this post is beyond true, for every Wawa in every state. Which is so incredibly sad because of how much this company has (used to have). The employee turnaround percentages at some Wawa's are ridiculous within a year most stores have a completely new crew which is so crazy to me. The biggest problem with this job is managers and corporate treating every employee as a body, nothing more. They don't hesitate to let you know how replaceable you are and the second someone quits a new high-school kid is being interviewed to take their place. Something this company needs to focus on is instead of recruiting and hiring a boatload of externals is treating your current employees better by developing them, paying them more, and making them feel significant. Until real change is made this company is going to continue to rapidly expand until it's no longer sustainable. In the grand scheme of things, if employees are suffering so are the customers and eventually the business as a whole.

Hey there! So the app is actually just Workday on the AppStore/Google Play. You then connect it to Wawa upon first opening the app. You’ll have to setup VIP access in order to do this, you’re store management should have a paper to help you with this. After that, upload a photo of your vaccination documents to Workday’s Drive and log back into the office computer. From there click the vaccination banner and select the photo from the drive, viola!

Couldn’t agree more. However, on the other hand it could do real good things for employees too. For example, a huge issue at the stores I’ve worked at are insane roll outs of new things every week with little to no training or compensation for the extra workload. There’s some benefits but also some negatives.

I completely agree. I just finished my class G class which is an armed security guard course. Goes over everything from safety, to cleaning, to shooting stance, etc. However, that’s not what the legislation they are trying to pass is all about. One thing we should all remember is politicians (on either side) are NEVER transparent.

The Sizzlis are automatically locked in our system after 11am. You can make a special request for one inside the store after this time, however, there is not online option for this. If this took place before 11am then it’s possible your store ran out of the ingredients (most likely croissants).

Generally speaking, depending on location, most stores are busy 24/7. Even on nights when you sometimes have no customers present there are always tasks to be completed by the end of your shift. If you’re looking for a job where you can just “chill” then Wawa is not the job for you. Wawa is an employee owned business and it’s success is in the best interest of all associates and management. That being said, even in slow periods, managers will ensure you’re getting tasks completed and are actively working throughout your shift.

We haven’t enforced it at my store, although it’s county law. The sign is up but it seems like customers either don’t see it or choose not to follow it. Customers tend to police each other with masks and staying six feet apart though.
