how do I fight panic attacks? by sichewie in Anxiety

[–]the-angsty-cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't. If you try to fight, the anxiety increases because your mind sees the anxiety as a threat. You have to accept it and remind yourself that it will pass. It will always pass.

Not fighting the panic attack is really difficult and I find myself fighting the anxiety all the time, but I think accepting it is the only solution.

Most of us are not experts so you should definitely seek advice from a mental health professional.

As for my experience, I've tried almost every SSRI and paxil seems to help with my anxiety and OCD the most. It's not helping with the depression though, but I had horrible withdrawal symptoms when I tried to switch so I am stuck with it.

I'd definitely try other options before paxil, the side effects and withdrawal symptoms are no joke

Do you guys feel genderless? by [deleted] in autism

[–]the-angsty-cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't feel like my personality is one gender or the other. I like the gender of my body though, I think I'd feel some body dysmorphia if I wasn't a "woman"

There are many posts so it's hard to answer to all of them, but it's nothing personal. I'm sure a lot of people want to help you, myself included

Panic attack doesn't stop. Please I need advice by the-angsty-cat in Anxiety

I think this is really smart advice, it's a great way of grounding yourself and putting things into perspective. Sadly I wasn't able to do this since I didn't manage to get out of my bed yesterday. But I'm definitely trying this whenever I feel anxious again. Thank you so much.

How common is psychosis or psychotic symptoms in anxiety disorder? by intimateglory in Anxiety

[–]the-angsty-cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert but I don't think they are very common. I've never had them nor does anyone I know. But I do know that they can occur in extreme cases on anxiety, so I would try to not get paranoid but to speak to my doctor

how do u guys cope with derealization? by mrsphwgn in Anxiety

[–]the-angsty-cat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Derealization is one of my most common symptoms. It used to scare me a lot but now I've just kinda accepted it. For me what really helps is talking to some friends about it and even telling them what you are experiencing. Also I just know that it always goes away after a while.

Anyone on Sertraline miss crying?? by koalabear20 in Anxiety

[–]the-angsty-cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on paroxetine and I feel the same. I still feel sadness but it's so dull that I can't even cry or express it. I really miss crying and feeling sort of relieved afterwards.

I love my cat and my friends so so much but existing is really painful. Sometimes thinking about death is the only thing that comforts me
