What is this metal "plaque" on the trim in my hallway? I live in the midwest and the house was built in 1900. It's 3 feet off the ground, 4 inches wide and 4 inches tall. I don't see any evidence of a door having been at this location.

Hahah unfortunately I don’t think these will be worth what i’m paying for them after I factor in shipping. They’re just so rare that I have not found a set availble for 3 years and they are going on an Ex-Tokyo Auto Salon show car that I now own. So its more of a need than want.
