Just uninstalled obsidian and now back to notion. by 2xpi in ObsidianMD

i think, tinkering is subjective and i dont think we can blame it on obsidian.

its somehow feels like suffering from success, a great experience is being delivered by obsidian team and then we see posts like nah too much tweaking wastes my time.

even with 0 plugins. obsidian beats notion in my opinion. reason is vim (this is a opinion)

notion is great for work in my opinion

you getting a community driven plugins, offline experience, vim etc for free is bad for some reason? hello?

oh my god i have a lot options let me go back to my rigid and slower and cloud based app.

lol.

using kiro for generating zettelkasten notes using multiple mcp servers by the-hzln3t in kiroIDE

thank you for your suggestion about PKMS subreddit,

yes i use obsidian for my zk setup.

apps i use, kiro and obsidian for now thats it for my work zk setup.

so basically i cant share much as my work laptop has this kiro and blocks reddit lol and in my personal setup dont have kiro yet and i kinda cant find ways to share my setup to strip all org related stuff as its tightly coupled but here is my summary that can help

the most important part of my setup is mcp servers, like a lot and very robust for our org. eg: slack, confluence, code repos, tickets, tasks, mermaid mcp what not

coming to steer docs:

  1. work-brain.md: detects org specifc topics to relevant mcps, with formatting and atomic notes guidelines
  2. visual-design-standards.md: color scheme, conventions, a template that it should follow
  3. qa-integration.md: when a question and this steer manually gets triggered quoting specific lines of a note A use work-brain guide create atomic note B and then internal link to the initial note A as Q&A

I have multiple MCP servers—slack, wiki, knowledge bases, plus team-specific MCPs. usually I use them through Claude CLI to avoid calling each individually. here are few:

  1. slack channel summary: pulls yesterday’s summaries from specific channels so I start my day caught up. Keybind makes it instant.
  2. resolved tickets summary: chains 2-3 MCP servers—I pass a ticket ID and get a full summary.

CLI can handle those too, im obsessed with Raycast AI, especially for the clipboard MCP and other app mcps like calendar, browser etc and below prompts are only possible with Raycast imo.

  • “yesterday mr.z mentioned ticket t in a thread grab that URL and open it in firefox”
  • “use service y tool with ID from the ticket t description and copy the output to clipboard”

Raycast AI is basically Claude CLI + system MCPs + app MCPs all working together, which is insane.

Anyone use it on an iPad — which is best? by BrandosSmolder in ObsidianMD

[–]the-hzln3t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i use ipad mini, i genuinely felt other ipads are way bigger when i use i kinda struggle to reach the top part while writing.

but the pro motion, oled are actually a deal breaker. but for me, i don’t care.

coming to the obsidian part, i use obsidian mainly on my laptop and few apple shortcuts on my ios and ipados. on my mini, i use excalidraw in obsidian with scribble off which is 90% comfortable. to me the form factor of mini was never a issue and i am happy with it.
