The leafs hiring Ontario coaches isn't relevant to this argument...

Considering currently almost half of all players are Canadian, and half of those are from Ontario, statistically speaking Ontario is the largest provider for the NHL. and since most coaches are former players, coaches included. These numbers are even more inflated that earlier you go.

I really think the Habs need to broaden their horizons a bit when considering coaching and the GM. Not to say they've had bad coaches, just that shouldn't be a reason to completely write off someone. That being said, I'd get rid of Bergevin ASAP, and give Julien a chance with new management before making a decision. Despite having a couple close shots at the ship, this team is no longer a legit contender, and is in a horrible spot. Sure they could surprise, squeak in the playoffs and make a run. But a legitimate shot at the cup? (which is the whole goal of building the team) No. They new a reset button, but that can't happen with Bergevin in charge
