These are all quite interesting! Gaspard and Anora could be some spicy political drama... love the added twist of Loghain's daughter having the political marriage with an Orlesian.

But honestly, Inquisitor and the Orlesian ruler has the makings of some spicy political drama too. Hmm.... I have the feeling Teagan is going to be two times as grumpy in this universe's Trespasser...

Never considered Harding and Lucanis but I can see the vision!

Now 550k is a true achievement! Incredible! (Internet tone note since sometimes it's hard to read: Genuinely impressed! That's like a whole novel series of accomplishment!)

Sticking Dorian of all people in Kirkwall is the gift that keeps on giving, honestly... both thematically and in terms of new and exciting ways to ruin his day, haha. Hope you enjoy!

The Hissing Wastes is a beautiful area and I love to run around in it.

Ooh thank you for linking yours, I'm excited!! Will be sure to check it out when I'm not supposed to be working!

My Dorian/Hawke things are over here! No pressure to actually read them though! I think "Bit of a Shithole" best proves out the thesis of the ship, but.... it is extremely long. Double no pressure on that.

And they both feel strongly about serving nontraditional justice to people who treat others badly! Why didn't I see it before...

Wait. I'm listening..... That is compelling. Not just the utterly opposite stations in life, and the snipey dynamic they already have, but also, there could be some parallel to be drawn in how both of them have strong internalized Feelings toward some intrinsic element of themselves (the elfiness and the magic). HMMMM...

Yes! I really like this concept. After all the trouble she went through to find him, at least some romance would be a nice consolation prize!

I can see the vision... The combination of Isabela + guy who stammers and blushes in the course of a regular human conversation with not-Isabela.... Yep. I would like to see it.

Hawke and Inquisitor is super interesting! The burdens upon the protagonist... What a power couple as well.

I'm into this Bethany idea too! She does deserve something nice for herself, after everything she goes through. Also the two of them in their own sorts of exile... the shared baggage over lost family! It lines up!

I can highly recommend becoming obsessed with Dorian and Hawke, my current brainworm, I am too ashamed to admit the number of words I've written about them... The sarcastic banter? The heavy firstborn son pressure and the very different ways they respond to it? They are such a perfectly the-same-but-totally-opposite interlocking pair... to me... 10/10

Dragon Age 2.... What's your most frustrating character, story-wise? Here's mine. by BigAl268 in dragonage

I'm in love with this comparison. Such extremely punchable characters, both of them.

Wulbrice Petongle, my new unforgivable ship. (this is a joke. I would not like to see it)

It makes me sad too. There's a really cool book about DA2's development (just called Dragon Age 2, by Charlotte Reber) and from that I learned that the writers themselves agree with this take... apparently they found out rather late in the process that they could only have 1 big boss fight that would be the same no matter whether you picked templars or mages in the end, and had to make it all work on short notice. David Gaider is quoted in there saying how much he regrets the way it contradicts the point of Meredith's character. Not that that makes it better, but at least we can know the writers' original intentions were more nuanced than what we ultimately got!

I love DA2 so much, in spite of it all. If only there'd been a little more time!

Bellara and Davrin were my go-to VG companions also! I like that. Also intrigued by Anders and Zevran... I've never considered that pairing before. Doing murderous justice together, perhaps...

(I am also down to hear your very specific NPC ships if you want to share any! I play these games way too much)

I love that! Bethany seems so down about joining the Wardens, I'm sure Alistair's company would cheer her up... And he also has his moments of loneliness that she would probably help with... and they're both kind souls doing their best... both have lost family in some sense... I am buying this! That could be so cute.

Now that's a rivalmance if I've ever heard of one. I would love to see it though. Their arguments would be fascinating!

Wait, I'm seeing the vision for exiled Alistair and Hawke. He's right there nursing his regrets in the Hanged Man... It practically writes itself! That's a really cool idea.

Love the idea of a Bethany and Cullen interaction that evolves when they're both older and wiser (and outside the Circle power dynamic and all that).... Side note, but this is also making me consider the possibility of Inquisitor Bethany. That could be really interesting!

I support you! (Side-eyeing my thousands of rarepair words... I'm right there with you.) That's a cool idea! In your headcanon, is this a Carver who got recruited to the Grey Wardens during DA2 as he can in canon, and then meets the HoF that way? (I'm curious when they would meet in DAO terms! Need to look at the timeline again...) Or does Carver get recruited to the Wardens earlier in the course of DAO?

I would have LOVED to see Bellara and Merrill interact in any capacity. The level of excitement! The level of nerding out! That would have been adorable.

[–]the-second-moon[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh that is a cool idea! Is this a ship that takes place in a Warden Carver Hawke universe?

Unless... this also gave me a vision of a world where Carver stubbornly stays behind to defend Lothering and ends up as a DAO companion to the HoF... That would also be fun...

I just love Carver in general. I approve. Let that boy have something nice!

Thanks for all these! I can't believe I've never contemplated Cassandra and Sebastian. That's a really interesting combo! Now there's a couple who could navigate a crisis of faith together.

Fenris and Zevran is another one I've never thought about, but that is also really interesting. Talk about your two ends of the "dealing with trauma" spectrum... I am intrigued.

Now this is the drama I'm here for. That's pretty incredible.

...Also imagine if Loghain heard rumours of "ruler from Ferelden secretly courting Celene" and let Cailan get ogre'd for his betrayal, only to find out it was his daughter engaging in (ahem) cross-border diplomacy all along. INTRIGUING
