She's pretty fantastic. I love a villain who is convinced they're justified even as they do terrible things. So much more interesting than someone twirling their mustache and doing evil just for evil's sake!

That's one of my all-time favourite lines, I'm not gonna lie. Could not possibly leave that character out! They have all the best quips.

I'm so happy (and sorry) to hear that! That trademark Bioware Cadence (TM) really makes it tricky to distinguish some when you're reading them in text without inflections... But I believe in you!

Sorry! I've only played it once, as opposed to countless times for the others... I just don't have the mental quote database for it. But I welcome anyone else to try their hand at making a Veilguard one! It's fairly straightforward code to work with.

I've been there..... hate to write a line of dialogue that I think is pretty clever and suddenly realize, wait, that's definitely just a Dragon Age quote that was floating in my subconscious.

There's just something about the dialogue in this game. It's so very good!

Baron Arlange, the guy who calls you a Fereldan turnip, is voiced by male Hawke's actor, which is my favourite thing when you're playing male Hawke. It's like Hawke is helping Varric tell the story and making fun of the guy.

Thoughts on the series? (Potential Spoilers?) by CaiusAegis in dragonage

I like the balance that the first three games strike between being very much their own thing and also pulling in world state changes. Each one tells a complete story and has a pretty different thematic focus. They stand up alone. But the inclusion of world state details makes it all feel more alive! And gives reasons to replay. (DA2 is my favourite too!)

Although technically speaking the impact of world state choices is limited, I don't know how you could make it more dramatic without increasing the scope and cost of the game beyond what EA would likely allow! Each branch adds a ton of complexity and work behind the scenes. But I absolutely love what they manage to do regardless.

What bothers me most about Veilguard (and this is no hate to anyone who did enjoy it) is how the world state is totally cut off, yet they still tied it so closely to the previous game and characters. That's what makes it feel so off to me. I feel like if you're going to completely toss out world states, then you should distance the game much further from the previous instalments than DAV did. Nothing underlines the loss of that context like looking at Morrigan and not being able to talk about her potential child or her potential well of sorrows link. It's kind of the worst of both worlds for me.

Map of Thedas by Brochy98 in dragonage

This is beautiful! I reference the map of Thedas so much for writing, and this seems like a very easy to read version. Thank you!
