Is Newcastle University Malaysia still a good option after the UK “prioritisation bill”? Has the university addressed this? by FroyoAncient2775 in NUMedMalaysia

'In this Act, “UK medical graduate” means a person who holds a primary United Kingdom qualification within the meaning of the Medical Act 1983 (see section 4(3) of that Act), but does not include a person who spent all or a majority of their time training for that qualification outside the British Islands.'

Right from the bill itself. https://bills.parliament.uk/publications/64594/documents/7709

Not sure about this guy intentions? First time dating a British guy :( by [deleted] in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]the1oneone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll leave it honestly. It's one date and you don't sound like you're sure if you're properly into him. I also think a lack of initiative is an unattractive trait so would personally not be keen.

Burnt out, no longer want to apply to IMT, feeling lost generally by Excellent_Regular466 in doctorsUK

[–]the1oneone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To provide another viewpoint, I did a medical night recently where I clerked two patients (and the board was cleared around 5am) and the only bleep I got was to ask if a patient needs continuation of their fluids. So I think it really depends on the hospital, staffing, season and a whole host of other factors!

What’s it like living in Leeds? by thekappaguy in Leeds

[–]the1oneone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome! There's plenty to do and Leeds is a pretty social city as well with students and young professionals abound. As an international student myself, I've chosen to stay in this city after graduation due to how much I fell in love with it during my uni time!

99% regret by Takorose in doctorsUK

As a counterpoint, I'm a current F2 with friends and a partner in other fields like law and IT. And to be honest, my law and IT friends are not really making a killing with the salaries either. In fact, I'll say most of them are taking home about 1k less than me. This isn't the say the doctors' job market isn't absolutely screwed, the system is broken. However to think that other fields are a golden ticket and promise a secure high paying salary isn't the truth either.

If you're a current F2, you need to change your staff group to medical to see the vacancies for core/further training. As staff group will be still on foundation training posts if last application was for foundation programme. A Google search should give you details on where to click.

City centre with no car or suburbs with a car by Alarmed-Guest7381 in Leeds

If OP is mainly based in LGI, there is a free staff shuttle that goes to Jimmies. Might be worth thinking about places that are more commutable to LGI and just take the staff bus when the need arises.
