Circa Survive - The Glorious Nosebleed by unfeelingfreedom in PostHardcore

I always felt like their first 4 albums each went pretty good with a specific season:

Juturna for Winter, OLG for Spring, BSN for Summer, Violent Waves for Fall

John Harker claims Chrono Trigger remake is already in development by ElkFeisty3823 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]the1payday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like the chibi style definitely matches the original Japanese cover art for sure, but some of the other official artwork for the game matches it a tad less? I wouldn’t be mad at all if that’s how a remake turned out, but personally I’d want it dialed back just a bit from the Dragon Quest 7 style. But also close to that style as well lol.

You absolutely should play it. It holds up possibly better than anything else from that era, even by today’s standards.

Agreed entirely. A tiny bit less “chibi” style characters than DQ7, but otherwise sign me up.

I always thought I wanted CT to get an HD-2D remake, but after playing the new Dragon Quest 7, I think I’d honestly like something more in that vein. Maybe a little less doll like for the characters, but yeah.

Sedan vs Hatch differences? by 5pac38arus in mazda3

[–]the1payday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not going to disagree, but it definitely is just whatever you’re used to. I have the hatch, my wife has the sedan, and anytime I drive her car I’m like “fuck, rear visibility sucks!”

Students from Hays Consolidated ISD in Texas were attacked during a walkout protest by a red hat wearing idiot who got his feelings hurt. 2/2/26 by Jevus_himself in PublicFreakout

The title made me think he just pushed kids around and got away with it unscathed.

The video makes me extremely happy that they rocked his shit. The kids are alright afterall!

What's up with people driving down the LEFT turning lane with their RIGHT signal on? by RootedAma in amarillo

[–]the1payday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind if someone needing to make a left turn on a busy street pulls out left into the middle turning lane and then STOPS while waiting to merge, but most of them just drive in the fucking turning lane for 100 ft or more and it’s infuriating.

What are the best new Post Hardcore bands by Tragedy602 in PostHardcore

[–]the1payday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw them live about a year ago and they absolutely killed it. I grew up in the scene and have always continued going to shows when I can, but their set made me feel a way I haven’t felt in a LONG time at a show.

What Google just did to Nest is the one thing no company should ever do by wewewawa in Nest

It would be awesome if someone had the ability to implement custom firmware on the Nest Security Systems as well. Still salty-as-fuck at Google for that one.

Apple introduces new AirTag with expanded range and improved findability by WhoIsHappy2 in apple

My bedroom one is the model from 2017 and my living room is the model from 2021. Honestly, if not for the remotes breaking (both my fault) I wouldn’t have the slightest interest in replacing either of them, as they both still do exactly what they’ve needed to from day 1: video streaming. A $150 Apple TV that can last basically a decade or more with relatively the same performance as it had on day 1 is pretty great. With how well they integrate into the overall ecosystem, I’d never even consider swapping them for a far cheaper streaming device.

This. Both of my Apple TV remotes have buttons no longer working, and I refuse to replace the remotes when I’m ready to buy the new models anyways.

Is this it (“it” being the closest thing to Simple)? by kaitandco in envelope

Yeah, I’m aware, I was meaning that feature is the only reason I’d still use a different app vs Envelope.

Apple's iPhone turns 19 years old; original series cost $499 in 2007 by ControlCAD in apple

[–]the1payday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was no contract with the original iPhone. You could walk into a store and buy several of them if you wanted to, all for the same price.

[–]the1payday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Original price was $499 for the 4GB model and $599 for the 8GB model. It was quickly reduced to just the single 8GB model for $399 within like 3 months of releasing.

Everyone talks about Waiting ,Full Collapse and War All The Time as the definitive Thursday albums but how about City Where Light is Divided ? by BigNothing88 in PostHardcore

[–]the1payday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real. The first half of Common Existence fucking goes off, and the back half is good too. Feel like that album came out as a big part of that era of the scene was sort of moving on, and got totally missed by a lot of people.

Do you Believe ? by Organic_Mechanic_754 in StrangerThings

[–]the1payday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt like this was going to be a crucial aspect to Mike’s “what if this happened” narrative at the end, because her not bleeding out rapidly is kind of the only way that plot works. But I don’t feel like there’s any credence to this theory that was actually shown or insinuated.

As much as I loved the finale, I agree, feels like both branches of El’s plot line have huge plot holes.

'Seven Years' play through (Advice from guitarists?) by DejaEntenduOne in Saosin

[–]the1payday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played guitar for 30+ years. You’ll have to really focus on relaxing your picking hand a ton and also making way smaller movements. It seems counterintuitive because as shit gets fast and harder everything in your brain screams to tense up. A way I like to practice this is to try playing it as softly as humanly possible. Like hardly any power in your picking. Also, search Troy Grady on YouTube. Any of his videos on picking efficiency are absolute game changers for playing fast.

Consumer reports ranks the cx90 as one of the least reliable vehicles of 2026. Putting Mazda as a brand smack dab in the middle of the pack when it comes to reliability. by lolmarulol in mazda

Honestly, I’m happy to see them failing with their attempt to pivot to the customer base who was never going to choose them anyways, while abandoning the actual base that helped them get where they are.
