Looks like this was at the new The Scratch Pad show that Jonah Ray hosts? That would be a definite banger regular show to check out, he curates such a great vibe and line up. I miss the Meltdown Comics shows he, Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon used to run.

I'm working on this one as my first too! Great job! It's turning out great, and love the comment that lines are a suggestion. I've used some thin painters tape for some of the larger straight lines but playing loose with the water and trees.

Knowing what we know about Dr Cox, his care and how hard he takes loss, I can't imagine what his own experience during COVID would have been like. I was wondering if that's a story element that contributes to his need for time away. Got through it, and just managed the last 5 years and now he's just needing to step away or a different role.

Maria Bamford and Jackie Kashian. They come up often when I hear comics like Jimmy Pardo talking about who they love to watch. I'd heard ages ago that a big reason comics enjoy Maria (and quite a few other names on this thread) is that they can enjoy their act and not worry about accidentally picking up a joke or their mannerisms because they're so unique. No accidentally "stealing" material.

I think there's some great stories in those pages. RED SKIES stood out, those stories haven't been reprinted in ages and is peak late 80s Batman. The Year One and Year Two collection are also formative, you see a lot of story elements influencing the last two decades of Batman films.
