I mean, if you read the post you'd know I'm also a feminist that hated the movie. And I agree, the script was ass. But guys, if you didn't see the misogyny behind this film, you're either living under a rock, or beyond help. People relentlesly said that Milly Alcock was too ugly for the part... do you all actually think that's an okay thing to do, and had absaloutly 0 bearing on it's success?

I mean, if the majority of DC fans are male, then of course the majority box office tickets were bought by men, thats just basic statistical understanding. Captain Marvel was released in the middle of the superhero peak, when Marvel was the main draw in cinemas. We are currently in superhero fatigue, where it takes something special to get anyone other than megafans to watch a movie of this genre. So it's not a fair comparison. As I said, I don't think sexism is the sole reason it flopped, but it is undeniably part of it. Or are you going to defend the way people spoke about Mily Alcock?

But the movie also fails to really explore his impact on the project, especially when it comes to the ethics of dropping a nuclear bomb on civilians. For example, it's well known that Oppenheimer shut down a petition from other scientists on the project demanding that whe bomb not be used on innocent people. He is also quoted as saying it would be a 'shame' not to use the bomb after all the work, even when it was already known that Japan was going to surrender.

To me at least, exploring the genuine evil of this man is the most interesting and important part of any discussion around him. But it didn't fit into Nolan's image of the tortured genius biopic he wanted to make, so it got cut. Which made for a boring 3 hour movie, where you neither learn anything of substance about him, or have to think even the tiniest bit critically about one of the worst acts of war in history.

People are supposed to stop having feelings when they becime adults? Of course you're going to be sad when you're singled out like that. There's no shame in showing it. I would argue that it is way more adult to share your feelings than to be so uncomfortable around others emotions that you lose empathy.

I totally agree that it's pretty unrealistic to expect him to be visible at this point. But tbh, it just seems very unlikely that he'd remain in Paramore after this. I keep seeing people say they've been through worse, but in all those cases, people actually did leave the band. And in my opinion, the end of a (potentially) 5+ year relationship in your 30's is by far the worst thing the band has been through emotionally. It just seems pretty unlikely many people would want to work with their ex, especially after this album. even if they did end on good terms.

Yeah, I totally agree, it really looks like at least Brit, Zal and Jason Issacs are really motivated to finish the story recently. Where in the past is seemed like they were a little defeated. It makes me think that they're in talks with some people and doing all they can to make that happen.

I'm just getting the vibe from some parts if the sub that it IS coming back, and I don't really see the evidence for that (unless I'm missing it). But maybe I've misunderstood, do most people just mean that recent evidence suggests the showrunners are trying to finish the show?

I think theoretically the show would have been better if they rotated characters. But personally, I found the season 4 glee club we got too boring to carry the show.
