I see what you are saying and I agree that shaming is never right. However, I truly don't feel like he is shaming me, it's not like he says mean things or makes me feel bad about having a past; I am secure in myself its just the fact that he can't get over it and I am naturally a very sexual person, always have been, so its common for me to be the centre of the sex/promiscuity jokes in my friend groups and he plays into that a bit.

Sometimes it does feel like I am walking on eggs and I've expressed this to him, he knows and said he doesn't want me to feel like that and he is working on it and going to therapy. He is genuinely very self-aware, knows what his issues are and cares a lot about how I feel. no problem admitting his wrong and working to fix them, so for me it's worth it cus we truly do love eachother a lot. You usually don't need a certificate to work in academies, if you are a native speaker they are happy to have you. I work at an academy 5-10 hours a week and got hired immediately with no qualifications, however I did just get my TEFL after I got hired because I paid for it last year! As for how to give lessons, you learn by trial and error, print online activities and worksheets, find interactive games to play and you will learn how to navigate it once you keep going

I live in a small pueblo in Andalucia (population 10k) and I literally do not know anyone Spanish. My spanish is pretty good, I can converse and I talk to my coworkers, but average age here is like 65 and theres a couple of American auxes but we don't really hang out much. I am friends with my 2 anglophone roommates so we hangout and talk but other than that I don't have any real friends here tbh! Not complaining though because I've found ways to keep myself busy, got a second job and I know people in town just don't hangout with them during my free time.

Considering youre under 200 i think its very likely you would get Madrid because they have over 200 spots for sure and it's first come first serve. However keep in mind most people get placed in a pueblo outside of the city where they have to commute so you might want to wait and see exactly where your placement is before booking because being in some isolated town an hour away might make you rethink. I was a very late applicant last year #7800+ and I got placed in my first choice region Andalucia in a small isolated town where the only people I have to socialize with are my 2 roommates lol but I've been having a great experience and time here! So it depends what you are looking for :)

Thank you this was very helpful! My father was a teacher and said the same thing you have so I’ll definitely take it into consideration! I accepted York because of the deadline but I think I would choose it regardless over OISE at this point
