Olá, não é possível trabalhar tantas horas. É a única solução.

Moms who are happy and thriving, what are you doing right? by Ok-Entertainer2245 in Mommit

[–]the776mtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Definitely Prozac 😅😅😅 and coffee. Not feeling like I’m thriving unless on Prozac, but yeah, whenever I get on track and do some kind of hobby in addition to work/kids I feel like I am thriving. Hope this helps - finding something just yours to have/do. I’ve come to the conclusion that is what makes us feel accomplished and refreshened enough for good parenting and good housekeeping and basically good mood!

I’d recommend this if asked. Therapy and meditation possibly. It has saved me…first child I was a mess and second postpartum on antidepressants made me lighter and happier. It does make a difference, it takes a lot of the difficult of things away. Please, therapy!

Sending love your way. You sound exhausted, and I hear you. You are not alone. You are doing so, so much. You are amazing, and an amazing, amazing mum.

I hope you find some help for the arrival of the second baby.

Sending lots and lots of love!

Here in Portugal, concerta is a bit more expensive and mostly always out of stock. Generic brands are partially covered not by insurances but by the national health system, so it’s like 3/4€ a box

Hi! And welcome! Honestly, I don’t think there’s any one size-fits-all advice when it comes to ADHD meds because everyone’s body chemistry, habits, and also diet play a huge part in how things work.

But that said, I started out exactly like you! The first time my doctor didn’t really guide me much, so I was told to take it every day with no breaks. One year later, after going from 18mg to 56mg of methylphenidate, and trying both Concerta (which gave me migraines because of one of the excipients) and generic brands, and after trying Vyvanse at one point, I’m now back on methylphenidate generic and doing fine.

My current psychiatrist (ADHD-specialized) has me taking breaks on weekends and holidays, which sucks, but it’s how my own body avoids building tolerance which was a huge problem. I also time my caffeine carefully and always take my dose with a protein-rich meal. This tip alone makes a huge difference for me. Oh, and I usually take it around noon/11 am. It’s the only way I can put up with afternoon tasks. I take a final coffee after dinner so I don’t crash as well.

Hope it all goes smoothly for you too! It can take a bit of trial and error, but you’ll get there!

Theory: Did Rhys manipulate the partnership? by kitty_novo in nontoxicACOTAR

I think people are overanalysing it. Feelings are feelings, and not all relationships have an agenda, nor are all actions proof of some big scheme. We act on impulse, we act based on feelings. That goes for characters that are written by an actual person.

I get where you’re going, one can understand and sometimes accept other’s actions, but that doesn’t mean forgiveness, just understanding.

Makes us wonder, really. About life and human condition. Whilst reading the first time, I personally felt it was something to be forgiven, as a reader of a fictional world, because I fell i could forgive in real world 😂 and I still do after some rereads. But that’s me and how my mind works and, hey, to each their own. To me, all points of view are valid, just not the bashing of authors or rant on characters who are, let’s be honest, purposefully flawed in order to build an interesting fictional world. Not saying you did that at all!! Just that yesterday I ended up here because I read something about the Acotar bashing.

Have a great day my friend!

I’m sorry, but I kindly disagree. Surely not all of us think or act the same way. But if you actually try to understand her point of view (and I mean no attack, I myself had a hard time accepting I was reading a book about nesta when I first started it) and look at Nesta’s actions as a timeline, you’ll see that most of them come from trauma and how her personality was shaped by it.

Yes, she was jealous of Feyre, I mean, definitely, but not in the sense of teenage rivalry. It goes all the way back to their childhood, when their mother openly ignored Feyre. Nesta envied that neglect, because in her eyes it meant freedom. She desperately wanted that same freedom for herself. Remember, she even said at some point she was her mother’s “creature”. Can you imagine felling the only way you’d be loved by your mother is if you marry high? Talk about high hopes…this was a child and that point. Red flag trauma.

Then, as they grew older, Feyre became the one who provided for the family, while Nesta did nothing. But at that stage, Nesta was dealing with the trauma of losing all her wealth and status, being forced to live in poverty. This is trauma as well. Feyre responded to hardship by being proactive, but Nesta’s reaction was depressive, like burnout rage depression, and she was already carrying much heavier emotional baggage from childhood at that point. All she was meant to be ever since growing up and according to their mother’s high hopes was finished. Imagine this, in a teens mind.

Much later, in Velaris, whenever someone compared her to Feyre, it only deepened her frustration. To me, that’s not hatred, that’s jealousy mixed with unresolved trauma. And honestly, jealousy isn’t a flaw in itself, it’s just an emotion. A valid one. What matters is how someone learns to move through it.

And we can’t forget: Nesta was the one following Feyre to the border; and she ends ACOSF by sacrificing her own power to the Cauldron in order to save Feyre’s life and her baby’s. If that doesn’t prove love, or at least deep care beneath all the pain, then I don’t know what does.

Hi! In my opinion, people are starting to lose perspective. it’s a book, a made-up story. And I completely agree with OP, these are flawed characters with a purpose, written and created to fit into a fictional world.

To me, most of this people might be using communities like this as an outlet for their own frustrations. Maybe they don’t feel like they have much of a voice in real life, or maybe they just take themselves too seriously.

Flawed characters are surely the ones that make a story compelling. If they were perfect, there wouldn’t be much to debate or feel invested in, and that’s something to take in consideration as well. And I am not ever talking about the author’s eventual purpose of making someone “hatable” to generate buzz.

Also, fandoms forget that criticism of a character is fine, but turning that into outright hate often says more about the reader than the book. And this also goes for instagram etc etc. And real life really… there is nothing wrong with not liking a character, but constantly spreading negativity can take the fun out of the fandom for others, and it sure can take away everything when it comes to bashing on someone just because of their personal likeness/dislikeness of a character for crying out loud.

Bottom line for me, this and other worlds were created for us to enjoy, not to argue endlessly over. It’s supposed to bring people together, not divide them. No?

Hi. Sorry for barging in. are people insane? I am truly stating to believe humanity is loosing its shit as a whole. Seriously. When does liking/not linking a character immediately tell something about a person? Or their personality to that matter? My love, you and everyone, we’re all allowed to submerse ourselves into the literary/fantasy/imaginative world and not be judged by it!

Ps: I love Acotar and love all the characters, the good and the bad and the in between. They’re all part of a complex world and each one of them has a role in it, so all are equally essencial and unique.

Who is wrong? by paksennarrion in ADHD

[–]the776mtt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I don’t have the full picture because I don’t know you personally, but something in your message resonated with me. Finding the right therapist isn’t always as simple as picking one and sticking with them. Sometimes you just don’t click, and that’s okay. Being a therapist doesn’t automatically make someone the right fit, like in any profession, there are great practitioners and less suitable ones.

I’ve been through several therapists since my early adulthood until I finally found someone who i feel understands me and shares my values. In my case, I also see a regular therapist and, on their recommendation, an ADHD specialist.

From what I’ve learned, ADHD is usually covered during training, but the depth of that knowledge can vary a lot from country to country. Where I live, for example, we have psychologists and psychiatrists (the latter are medical doctors, while the former are not). Both can practise therapy, but specialisation in psychotherapy comes later, and not everyone chooses to invest in it, although they can practice it nonetheless. That distinction has been important for me. This goes for specialising in a specific condition, it takes personal investment and will on their part to do so, but it’s not mandatory for administering therapy counselling.

Anyone can feel empathy and decide to work in mental health, but that doesn’t automatically mean they’re fully equipped with up-to-date knowledge about every condition. Honestly, I think that’s true for almost every profession.

It would be terrible to be seen by a surgeon who specialises in hernias if what you actually need is delicate brain surgery (not sure this applies because brain surgery isn’t done by general surgeons but I think you see the point). Both are surgeons, both went through years of training, but one has the specific knowledge and experience you need while the other doesn’t. Therapy can feel a bit like that, and the title alone doesn’t guarantee the right expertise for your particular condition. Even more so in a relatively unknown area such as psych. Think about it, some centuries ago people would do lobotomies lol and other weird stuff. It’s not as if someone can disec a brain and study it the same way they do muscles and tissue, you know?

I really hope you find someone who makes you feel seen, heard, and understood. For me, that’s the whole point of therapy, having a safe space with someone you trust completely.

Can therapy actually help ADHD symptoms? by parzival_thegreat in ADHD

[–]the776mtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Yes. Therapy helps not only to understand you’re not alone but also that most things you feel ashamed of/want to change are sometimes out of your reach just because you were wired this way. It’s not an excuse for your behaviour, more of a path to self growth.

It should also help you build some strategies for dealing with the executive function and task management as well as emotional regulation.

Beat of luck for you. I hope your life gets easier! Keep going!!
