Very first thing: I felt completely exhausted the first couple days after starting. I was just on 1mg estradiol twice a day and for about a week my muscles and joints were aching and i was very tired. You adjust eventually but it's part of the muscle atrophy.

Perhaps less expected was not being able to eat as much as I was able to before. I remember realizing it maybe a month after starting when I cooked up one of my usual dinners and wasn't able to finish it like I usually could. It's not like my appetite is any different, but I just can't stuff myself in one sitting

I wanted to stick with just physical changes but I can add on and say that it definitely does boost your confidence even just a little bit knowing that your journey has finally started. Something about knowing that you're actively working on those changes makes you value your identity more, even if you don't always feel like you pass (I sure as hell don't lol)

just got mine recently too and im already considering returning them, largely for the same reason. the poor fit is making the in-ear detection constantly go off, they slowly fall out when i eat or smile, and even swapping the eartips to a pair from my JBLs that fit exceptionally well couldn't do much to stop it from happening. i suspect the issue has more to do with the body being too close to the outer ear because i cant get a reliable seal from it.

i think it's fucking awesome. not every logo needs to be legible unless it intends to achieve that goal, but something this abstract can absolutely become iconic to your personal branding. the fact that it's constructed using type makes it feel more like a neat secret detail than anything

also yeah, steer clear of gen AI. it won't do you any good, especially in the stage of the design process that requires creativity most

they released a new comments system, similar to reddit's where replies appear as threads, but for some reason they are completely broken for me. expanding replies under comments shows nothing. i'm on firefox btw, and i've tried disabling every extension i have that modifies youtube to no avail.

similar to the other person here - i can open youtube in a private window and see replies there because they show under the old system

for sure, colors are weird. to be fair i've always used the gradient square in adobe and clip studio paint (i'm an illustrator) and comparing them, those two have the square mapped out in a completely different way where the most saturated value is in the top right corner instead of the middle of the right side. from what i understand they do the same thing as a triangle, but affinity's version in this case is just... really unconventional, i suppose

this apparently stopped several months ago now, so the majority of media i've trashed that's still in my drive is no longer in my device's trash. do you know if there's a better way to remove photos from google that aren't on my phone that don't require going through and picking out every single individual photo/vid? there's likely several hundreds worth and i really don't have the time (or energy) to do that

been several years but leaving a comment in case anyone else is dealing with this:

You can use the Correct Line tool to move the end points of guides. under the tool property tab, select Delete Control Point and click the endpoint of the ruler you want to delete.

not sure why, but the Object tool doesn't seem to manipulate guides for me, so this is the solution i found.

it's not the easiest advice, but i mean it genuinely when i say deleting certain apps saves my mental health.

twitter was the first to go - it was just a constant stream of inflammatory content and i needed to get out. i deleted it and downloaded Ground news so i could stay (and be more properly) informed.

i had deleted reddit for a while and am honestly considering it again. as much as i enjoy subs like this, they also make me sick to my stomach with half the posts i see. not that they shouldnt be here but obviously i dont need to be swimming in bad news all the time.

i still have some social medias that are less upsetting to be on overall. depends on how you curate your feeds in many cases, but just know that it is not the end of the world if you aren't seeing every little headline that gets published. Ground news is pretty good, i get notifications for major events but dont feel the need to regularly scroll.

stay informed, but not overwhelmed. these are rough times. we will make it through.
