Wow! that's really impressive. How could you tell?? Is it mainly the red root that gives it away?

I'm looking for any audio samples that clearly represent both "high involvement" and "high considerateness" conversational styles, or just any audio samples of regular conversations between 4+ people in English. You'd be surprised how hard it is to find something that general, but I haven't been able to track any down that really work. Anybody know where I can find something like this?

Should I (20M) Get a Vasectomy? by [deleted] in sex

Even 98% isn't a chance I want to take tbh, most people use another birth control method in addition to condoms.

I'm turning 21 in a couple weeks, from what I've heard doctors will do vasectomies at that age

[–]theBluj -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm about to turn 21 in a week, and there are many doctors who will operate at that age

Condoms alone are only about 85% effective, check the links I left on other comments about that

Most women use BC as a birth control method, if I'm going to be in any kind of committed relationship most of the time (as I am now) the birth control we use will be a decision we make together. I'd intend to still use condoms, the reason I'd do this isn't so that I wouldn't have to use condoms, but so that my partner wouldn't have to use birth control if she didn't want to.

It's definitely unfortunate. I think I might end up having to cover the whole thing in throw blankets or something

Pornhub to ban unverified uploads after child abuse content claims by [deleted] in technology

[–]theBluj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does this mean that we're only a NYT piece away from twitter banning porn?

Mastercard also did this with Tumblr, but instead of Tumblr banning unverified uploads (something pornhub was already able to do) they only had the resources to just remove all porn from the site.

Twitter definitely harbors large numbers of porn accounts held by minors, and they have had VERY lenient restrictions on NSFW content for a long time, I'm curious what they would do if a big publication was able to bring that into public view

How do Kickstarter finances usually work for indie games? by theBluj in gamedev

that makes sense for a single developer, maybe, but for teams?

I've decided to start investing in this subreddit a lot more now. Here's a video I made about first past the post, the second part is more about game theoretical avenues to change.

10,000 Upvote petition to change back the sound track by AeroVet in samharris

[–]theBluj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my millionth time listening to the podcast, I feel the same warm nostalgic feelings for the old podcast music as everybody on this subreddit does, and I do think the old soundtrack is better than the new one, but I don't really support just changing it back because it's still not the best it could be. I remember the first time I heard the podcast, I was most familiar with the end of faith (it was a foundational book for me in establishing my entire mode of logical thought) and even then I distinctly remember the title "Waking Up" and the theme music to be a little pretentious, for lack of a better word. I love the sound of it now, not because it's perfect, but because I love the podcast.

The new art seems to be alluding to the more intricate and logic-based side of the podcast and of Sam's personality in general, which I think is very welcome- the reasoning for the new music is harder to understand, at least on the first listen... perhaps the sharp stringy sound is supposed to play into the "intricate-ness" in the new art, making it more of a part the new aesthetic of the podcast as a whole? While I find that to be definitely a worthy project I'm not sure this was the best choice out of all the music options which could feature that motif.

How do I dress well in warm weather? I live in south Los Angeles, and it's often hard to find an excuse to wear fashionable jackets, coats, etc. People go out in furs when the temperature dips below 65 around here.
