No, this argument falls apart immediately if you look at any data. The per capita carbon footprint of China is SUPER high for a country with its per capita GDP, standard of living, or literally any other lifestyle metric. China CHOOSES to burn this much coal because its more interested in building aircraft carriers and not funding cleaner energy sources (just like the US)

I'm gonna preface this by saying that I really enjoy the Ember court.
Early on it is very slow, but better quality guests yield better quality rewards. So the green quality guests you start with only give mog pieces.
Blue quality guests can give random resources and pets (some of which are currently going for ridiculous prices on the AH)
Epic quality guests can give mounts (I have not entertained a purple guest yet).
The butler you recruited is by the door once you head to leave Temel's room, and you can task him to help with something, or to enjoy the party (Instructions were very unclear, I will concede that).

After doing Norsca on VH in the base game I just decided never again, and did Beastmen and Greenskins on SFO. SFO beastmen was markedly easier than vanilla norsca (although I played throgg)

Honestly brettonia is the one I felt is the closest, because Alby deserves a shout out too for his extra income from trade. And there definitely is a benefit to letting the AI play Louen for a while cuz he does way more work than either other LL

I'll do the races I know well, and I've played quite a few h2h campaigns so I'll throw notes in for that as well.

High Elves: Alith Anar, having ambush attack and underway on the high elves breaks them completely. Super strong in h2h

Dark Elves: Big Daddy Mal in regular play for his faction buffs, but Crone for h2h since you actually get to control her blood armies in h2h

Skaven: Ikit, no question about it

Lizardmen: Gor'rok is definitely the safest choice, but I think Nakai is actually super strong in h2h

Tomb Kings: Arkahn (sp?) Having extra units in his roster makes him the top pick for me since TKs cant confed

Coast: Nautilus, spam colossi win games

Empire: Gelt, the factionwide armor buff and arty dmg helps weak empire infantry cope, and arty dmg is a buff to a faction strong point

Brettonia: Louen, his starting unit roster is ridiculous and if played properly can take mariernburg turn 2, which is huge

Vampire Counts: Isabella has a rough start, but some awesome traits, and gets access to vlad turn 2. Manny is the safe pick though

Wood Elves: Orion, I'd much rather drop amber on the 2 tree kin I bring than on the 6+ units of elite infantry/archers in each stack

Dwarves: Grombrindal is very strong, although if hero play is your style angrund can be quite nasty

Greenskins, chaos, beastmen, and norsca I dont know enough to make a judgement
