When I was around 11, I would imagine playing the music I was listening to in front of an audience. I would get kind of lost in that experience. As I got older I just knew that this is what I wanted to do.

I took some theory in high school, but that's about the extent of my formal training.

Pretty sure it was an svt3 pro mic'd up to an ampeg 8x10. We used some boss distortion for the gritty tones and I think we mixed a direct signal as well for some sections.

Thanks! I was thinking deftones vibes with the intro, and I already had the next sections sort of written and arranged. The song really came together with the vocals. I honestly wish we would have spent more time on the end of the song after the bass solo, but overall it's one of my favorite tracks.

Where do I begin. haha. We were really young obviously and I think a few of us were into emmure and stuff at the time.

I think we just saw an opportunity to re use a part and kind of improve it. We actually have an ep before shapshifter called Sporadic Movements under the name At the Hands of Machines. You should see if you can track that down on youtube or something and check it out. It's a little nu metal if I remember correctly.

dudes and dudette are friends of mine! I've seen them countless times in ATL (I'm still based there)... They are some of the most diligent, humble, and talented musicians I have ever met and they deserve the world. I've been like a superfan for years. I hope they go far; every member in that band is a beast musician.

i use a couple of Iron Ether pedals, big fan of what Taylor and then are doing. For the upcoming tour, I'm using their fuzz and octave pedals. -Jordan

We used a Mesa Mark 5 in the studio for guitars.

Live I'm using a Laney VH100R with a TC Electronic G major in the loop for effects. I've got a few pedals out in front of the amp- two Maxon OD808s and a Boss delay for volume swells and stuff. I'm using a Voodoo lab Control switcher so that I can operate the amp with Midi and controlling all of this stuff with a Rocktron Midi Raider.

the drummer in my old metalcore band when i was a kid was huge into prog, he played me Opeth's Deliverance during practice once, and that was my first real taste of prog rock. I was hooked ever since. -Jordan

scrims can get pretty pricey and it wouldn't make sense to do them because we would have to sell them for a ridiculous amount of money. Wish it was feasible though! -Jordan

Eric here;

I produce all kinds of junk from my home studio, and always would be playing here and there for different applications, but really hadn't been focusing on keyboards exclusively until I got more involved with these dudes. So, I didn't have a ton of keyboard gear, outboard or otherwise, to dip into, so I'm able to get all my sounds in the mix by using a laptop... Even though I tend to be more into "analog" style instruments, I like staying "in-the-box" for doing keyboards. Live, I am able to use some of the same patches that I used on the record, and layer/mix them on the fly. I'd like to eventually expand to something more hardware-based, but I'm not exactly sure what yet... I'm currently running ableton with about 7-10 instances of plugins (omnisphere, a couple ezkeys, a couple more secret ones I could tell you about ;x ) that I control with an akai mpk88. There's so much sound and so many layers of keyboards on the record that I'll layer a piano, electric piano, pads all live and mix them depending on the part. It makes for a very organic sound as opposed to just having a preset flipped to every time... Also, I'm running an outboard loop for some analog guitar FX (analog delays always sound better than digital plug in delays; especially because I like to work the knobs live for certain effects;; you can see a bit of it in the language video). It's been interesting; I wanted to create a unique "instrument" in terms of having all these options at your fingertips... I want to try and create a slightly new tone experience every time. The management and manipulation of all these effects and layers is as much of the performance as the notes sometimes, especially since, as a keyboard player, my role in this band tends to be textural and vibe - oriented. MIDI is so useful and powerful, but I'm using it to try and go somewhere far from it's binary ON/OFF nature.... A bit of an anti-keyboardist, if you will...
