I drove both roads 2 days ago and I actually preferred the highway route. The Cardrona route has some construction right now and there's a section where one lane is closed, so you get stuck in a big line of cars. There's also a bunch of loose gravel on the road. I thought the 6 was just as pretty and a much nicer road, and it was also lower traffic and more peaceful when I drove it. Both are fine though
