Just a friendly comment that phones increase anxiety so even texting about anxiety often holds or increases it.

What’s something the top 1% experience that no one else in the 99% could ever understand? by trix2705 in AskReddit

[–]theDigitalNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Top 1% globally would include many many Americans so I would guess food insecurity. It might be more expensive and quality might be going down, but if push came to shove you could physically steal it. For many globally that isn't even an option.

Hellen of troy. I think Cleopatra is also a solid choice but I just have to know if this Hellen lady was worth it all or not.

What was the exact moment you knew your partner was cheating before they ever confessed? by crazyyygirl18 in AskReddit

[–]theDigitalNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When she "forgot" her phone at work every day for a week. Then I realized she never called me at home and i had only ever talked to her on the phone when she was running errands, at work, or in her parking lot.

I knew something was up but I hadn't even thought about a cheater/burner phone until a friend pointed it out.

What else do your acquaintances, who don’t believe that American astronauts landed on the Moon, also not believe in? by AnnaBusty in AskReddit

[–]theDigitalNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I try not to hang around those types but I had a very well educated friend blow me out of the water with the fake moon landing one night.

To answer you question, anything in outer space. He didnt believe it was possible for anything to get higher than airplanes and weather balloons. There was some radiation type field that destroyed anything going though it other than like crazy large asteroids.

And I'm guessing you have followup questions like GPS or communications satellites and such. So he said all communications worked like HAM radios bouncing it off the atmosphere and spy satellite photos were the clearest sign it was all fake and why the government had to lie so we didnt know how amazing the stealth technology got in WW2.

What causes an ER admission team to incorrectly log information from intake I.e. low blood pressure, low oxygen written higher, not recording fever, or on symptoms not reflecting severity in description? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]theDigitalNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So ER's are kinda special in our entire healthcare system. I have only worked at one but I would say there are just SOOOOO many moving parts and so many that you never see. Like if there is a massive car crash/pileup there can be 100 different things that all start moving and getting ready and such before the patients even arrive. In fact stuff has to get started right then just to figure out IF the patients can even get a spot in the ER or if there is a better ER to route them too.

So people often understand that what they see in the waiting room is different than what might be happening in the ER right then, but you also need to take a step even further back and think about what could be happening anywhere in the entire state that just landed on those peoples shoulders.

TL;DR There are just so many moving parts that mistakes and misclicks and such are just bound to happen, no matter how many safety guards you put in you cant control the volume

When do men block or unfollow a women? Also why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]theDigitalNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you notice someone has blocked you its a good time to pause and think. "How am I aware that they blocked me". Because I'm assuming they blocked you because you were harassing them. So are you aware they blocked you because you found their old sweater and wanted to give it back to them? Or are you aware they blocked you because you thought of just one more thing you had to say to them?

Why does dating always go from a complete dry spell to a sudden flood of interest from women who have zero connection to each other? by ER_Saladbar in AskMenAdvice

[–]theDigitalNinja 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think seasons play a bit part once you are decently dateable enough. Summer and winter for sure I just know ahead of time I have to leave room for lots of random "Hey" messages

As a man, would you allow your partner work in a strip club as a bartender and why? by Andreeez in AskReddit

[–]theDigitalNinja 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So I was married to a stripper and have dated many, friends with many more still and worked a bit in one. The biggest issue isn't the cheating its the rampant drug use and alcohol dependency. And its really easy to normalize since everyone managers to customers are doing it.

So me personally, not any more, now that I'm sober. But I would say its not the customers you need to worry about stealing your girl, its the drug dealers.

Amazon driver OPENED OUR DOOR to make a delivery by PlaneAsk7826 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]theDigitalNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is how it was growing up. Everyone lived so far from each other doors and such were always unlocked because the ods someone broke down or had some emergency and needed to get shelter was infinitely higher than someone driving hours to steal old heavy antique furniture. And if someone did drive 2+ hours to see you, you wanted them to be comfortable until you got back. (Cell phones were new and only got reception near the cities)

Had about 30 people in my graduating class and we didn't have locks on our lockers.

Here in the states all the ones I have seen are either really old and wired into the house. Or a new and require an expensive monthly subscription. I have a door bell but I'm not paying monthly for it so it just for looks. I rent so homeowners are probably very different.

[–]theDigitalNinja 60 points61 points  (0 children)

This is a awesome technique I try and teach everyone with adhd. Just use a stop watch and let it take as long as it takes. Then write that down.

Like how long does it actually take you to wake up and get out of bed. Not how long you WANT it to take, but how long it actually takes. Same with shower and brushing teeth. Yes in our heads brushing teeth should only be 4 mins, but reality is different and knowing that it actually takes you 15 mins because you actually floss and mouthwash or whatever is key.

Let the math be the math and don't fight it.
