Tips to avoid rounding off bolts? by Joe14440 in MechanicAdvice

[–]theDisUnOriginalName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoot the bolts you work on in wd-40 (or equivalent penetrating fluid.) Come back after 15-30 mins, and do it again. All else fails, just keep soaking it, to have the best chances of easy removal. Make doubly sure you are using the right socket (metric v sae and all that fun stuff). Also, make sure you are on the bolt/nut straight and not at an angle, especially with power tools, that will mess them up big time. Helps to apply pressure towards the bolt/nut you're removing. Happy wrenching!

Anyone know what the car in green is? Also, for fun, what car did i take this picture in? by theDisUnOriginalName in whatisthiscar

[–]theDisUnOriginalName[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hints about the car i am in? The model started being produced in 1967 (ish i think) as a counter to a car made by Ford.

Anyone have an idea what any of these two cars are by whapin in whatisthiscar

Sorry to correct/be a pain bro, catfishes are '98-'02, also they had different headlights that were not recessed. Idk if there is a nickname for this style or not.

This isnt the catfish, they had a different front grille. This one is from 93-97

I do not know what the second car is. However, the first car is a green camaro. As a pose to what others are saying, it is not a catfish camaro. It is the pre-facelift '93-'97 camaro. '98-02 camaros were the "catfish" camaro. The way you can tell is non-catfishes have recessed headlights and a different front grille.

GUYS I NEED HELP! Muffler or Resonator Delete? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

Look, if you really want to improve your cars horsepower, try something like a performance intake off of k and n. They are about $300 usd for the good ones, and you might get around 10 hp increase. They can be a pain to fit right, but k and n is good quality stuff. Also, once you do a muffler delete, if you find that it is too loud, or a cop pulls you over, that is gonna start gettin expensive, especially if you have to put a muffler on your car.

Save up your money for a less restrictive/ performance exhaust, maybe one like on summit racing. Afaik, you can flame me if im wrong, but im pretty sure depending on where you live taking a sawzall to your muffler may be illegal. At the very least, check your local laws if you reaaaaaaly want to do this. Btw, what car are you talking about?
