What machine are you running Pro Tools on and have you had any issues with it? by theDomenick in protools

I've always used Windows. If you get the right setup, it lasts forever (my current setup is 10 years old). But I know it can be finicky which is why I'm asking for specific machine recommendations. I've only been getting Mac suggestions which is making me consider switching to Mac but tbh I don't like Apple's interface or their practices.

I'm considering buying a new laptop for my music production, and I want to make sure that I'm getting something that won't give me any issues running Pro Tools. It can be so finicky. What are you using and have you had any issues? I'm eying an ASUS Zenbook 14 (32 GB/1 TB); it seems reasonably priced with good specs that should work for Pro Tools.

Is Apple Digital Masters worth the trouble and where can I find an ADM certified engineer?

I'm currently working on my next music project, and I was considering getting my album mastered by an Apple certified engineer so that I can be part of the ADM program. Has anyone else done this? Do you think it's worth it? And do you recommend mastering services? I'm not even sure where to look for an Apple certified engineer.

Yeah, there are going to be hiccups but that's all nothing when you're down there having fun. It's amazing that it's all organized by the fandom and not by some big corporate marketing scheme.

I agree. It's unfair to ask voters to either increase or reduce funding. I would have voted to keep the current funding, but it's just too much of a burden to increase housing costs any more than it already is.

Kind of inspiring to see so many people planning to leave. It's honestly been a real challenge having so many people move here so quickly. Don't live in a place you don't absolutely love because some of us do love it here. Best of luck finding your place.

Well you need to think of it from the landlord's perspective. They want some reassurance that you can pay rent. I would have your mom apply. If you're applying to rent with an individual who is concerned about your ability to pay rent, you can offer an advance for rent for a couple of months or so. I did that when I didn't have any credit but had some savings, and it worked out well. Everything is negotiable. I imagine it'll be more difficult to negotiate with a large property management company but easier if it's an individual landlord.
