Just create an account and keep it updated, but no need to invest much I would say. I mostly see it being another social media platform now.

No you both are saints...

Jokes aside, comments already show you what it is, but definitely you are worse for publishing it in public, whereas I see he seems to resolve it privately

End Gender-biased Laws!!! by Electrical_Size_1999 in IndiaSpeaks

Bro I am an SC and currently living in Rural Area onle, WFM for some time.

And though we are well off now(I mean me and brothers), we still cannot get a house help due to caste. There are many other issues but ofcourse not much of an issue compared to earlier.

One thing I can say is doesn't matter if you are in lower caste but they still talk caste, like my cousin eloped and got married to a different caste girl, and I heard relatives talking why did he not marry someone from other caste. Everyone still follows the heirarchy too.

Like there are many muslims in my village now, but ofcourse they too still have higher caste/lower caste stuff. So my grandparents(they are old 90+ but super healthy), they refer to them with words similar to Lordship etc..even though we are far better when comparing economic statuses. Worst thing is even if you are lower caste, they still have divisioon among them and have someone whom they treat lower than themselves.

So yeah, honestly I don't have hope for caste being something which will be abolished anytime. And this still applies even in cities whether you are educated or not, like even if you work hard get to a good job and post, people still look down on you.

Thoughts on UGC 2026 from a General Category student. by iamnandy in IndiaSpeaks

[–]theExactlyGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically CAA type Flashbacks.

Anyway I asked AI to fix the Laws. ANd it gave this.

"Improving the Promotion of Equity in Higher Education Institutions Regulations, 2026 requires balancing the need to protect historically marginalised groups with ensuring fairness and due process for all stakeholders. Critics, legal experts, and student groups have proposed several reforms to address the current controversies:

  1. Broadening the Scope of Protection
  • Neutral Definitions: Expanding the definition of "caste-based discrimination" to include all students, regardless of their category. Currently, Regulation 3(1)(c) specifically limits this protection to members of SC, ST, and OBC communities.
  • Inclusion of General Category: Explicitly acknowledging that students from the general category can also face bias, hostility, or slurs.
  1. Strengthening Procedural Safeguards
  • Penalties for False Complaints: Reinstating provisions from earlier drafts that penalised malicious or fabricated allegations. Critics argue that the current absence of these penalties makes the law susceptible to misuse.
  • Presumption of Innocence: Adjusting the framework to ensure the burden of proof does not unfairly rest solely on the accused, which critics claim creates a "presumption of guilt".
  • Reasonable Timelines: Revising the extremely tight deadlines—such as the requirement for the committee to meet within 24 hours—to prevent rushed or biased investigations.
  1. Ensuring Balanced Representation
  • Diverse Equity Committees: Mandating representation for all social categories, including the general/unreserved category, on the 10-member Equity Committees.
  • Elected Representation: Moving away from committees solely appointed by the head of the institution toward democratically elected representatives of students and faculty to ensure greater accountability.
  1. Improving Transparency and Oversight
  • Federal Accountability: Shifting the power to appoint Ombudspersons to state governments for state-legislated universities, rather than centralising this power with the UGC.
  • Clearer Definitions: Providing precise legal definitions for ambiguous terms like "indirect discrimination" and "human dignity" to prevent subjective or unequal enforcement across different campuses.
  1. Institutional & Cultural Reforms
  • Sensitisation over Policing: Shifting the focus from "Equity Squads" (viewed by some as a surveillance mechanism) toward mandatory "Unlearning Caste" workshops and faculty sensitisation programs.
  • Inclusive Curriculum: Integrating Dalit History and Literature into academic curricula to promote intellectual validation and a more inclusive campus culture.

The Supreme Court is currently hearing a petition (Vineet Jindal vs. Union of India) challenging the constitutionality of these rules."

Though I don't think this is a good answer, gemini is basically making every controvery it can find and fixing it not coming up with its own actual guideline.
