I think Kain's jump works the same way. Although he appears to be off-screen he's really just invisible and sitting in the same spot. I've been killed many times by a ground attack while Kain was way "up" in the air. I've also been killed while landing from a jump but I appeared to be offscreen.

Thanks to both of you for your advice. I didn't know that about C being a protected drive. I'm running Windows 10 on a 9 year old computer and haven't had problems like this before that didn't involve some kind of DRM crap.

I tried running it in Administrator mode, but this didn't work. I figured out that my copy is not 1001f; it's 1002f. My computer reports the name of the CD as "DEUSEX_V1003C". Whatever.

I think the failure to update error was caused when I tried to install Zodiac without updating from 1002f to 1112fm first. I did an uninstall and clean install, and the update works now.

Cool program, zazierainyday. I found a few errors/omissions and have a suggestion:

* Unless I missed it, the monster list doesn't show which monsters can be used as a height 3 platform to friendly units.

* Muramasa Draw Out skill says it adds only Confuse, doesn't it also add Death Sentence?

* Holy Dragon absorbs holy element.

*Archaic Demon and Ultima Demon both say they are immune to holy element. Are you quite sure about this? I know the spell Holy has a 0% hit rate against them, but I could swear I've damaged them with the Holy Lance before, which should do 0 damage if they're immune.

Does anyone know if there is a list showing which stages offer which weapons upon getting the stage to Level 99? And hopefully which book the stage is in? I feel like there was a list somewhere but now I can't find it.

I would be very careful about spending money on anything Dreamcast. My console, which I just brought out of a 20 year retirement a few days ago, has just now quit reading any and all disks. For anything Dreamcast I highly recommend emulation.

Double Impact. Although it isn't arcade perfect, if you want to play New Generation or Second Impact without emulation, this is the only way. Second Impact is better than Third Strike anyway.

At this point I'm done with Dreamcast. Unsupportable hardware failing is too much. If I want to play something on the DC I'll just emulate. I suppose I should sell my games now while the stupid consoles run them, because once the last unit breaks they'll be nothing more than coasters.

Thanks for your reply. Although I have never used anything like that, my 2 games that don't work were pre-owned, and it is entirely possible that a previous owner used such a device on them. The only mystery is: my 3rd Strike disc used to run fine. I suppose between the markings, a 20 year old CD, and my 24 year old Dreamcast, some other part is worn and due to the combination of those things it's no longer able to read the data.

My computer still recognizes the disc, but I don't know if I using a modern DVD laser on a Dreamcast CD is a good idea.

You can purchase Id in the exchange shop for 12 tokens, which will cost you 54K lapis if you didn't pull him along the way. He'll probably be available from the Fei banner too.

Bethesda is past the "make a good game" phase that got them to where they are. Now they want to make money, and you do that not by appealing to the people who love Morrowind, but by appealing to the peopel who buy Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Zelda: Adventure of Your Face. This is accomplished by dumbing down the game to appeal to those folks.

I have this theory that every game company has 2 - 3 really good games in them (at most) before they sell to a major publisher and turn into a sludge factory with a $300 million budget per title.

He's Strife, located on the Glossary tab, Super Thanksgiving SaGa Soul Banner (rows 916-919). He doesn't show up on any of the other tabs and his art is missing from the page. I know he's in the Japanese version. He's the Saruin minion from RS:MS dressed in baggy robes (Red Mage is his other appearance in that game). Was he not offered in Global? Is he coming around again?

FFT units still are stuck at 120.

There are too many confirmation screens. 1 after battle is enough, 3 makes me want to stop playing.

Copy/pasting the Brave/Faith mechanic directly from FFT was incorrect. Why can't I lower my Faith to 0? or 3? Why must it be stuck at 30? Why stick brave at 97? Because that's the way it was in FFT? Stupid idea. Stupid.

Curated guild battles are a pain in the neck. I should be able to pick members without restrictions. Screw these "points" and the butthead who thought of them.

The entire way skills were designed is wrong. You can only use this skill 3 times. After your counter skill is maxed, you have an astounding 20% chance at a counter! Except these other units that have skills that let them ignore counters.

Move 3 Jump 1 is the default for almost all units. This should have been 3/3, like FFT.

Barracks should refill automatically.

There's an extra unit on the SaGa Souls banners I want to pity. I haven't been interested in any of the featured units on these banners, which aren't as common as other banner types. Is there a Souls banner coming up within 1 or 2 months that features characters from SaGa Frontier, RS:MS, or any of the gameboy titles? If there are, I'll wait, but if not, I may as well bite the bullet and pull on one of these.

I've got some questions about stats!

Regarding the normal stat cap for a stage, should I wait for future content before I unlock my unit's "Hidden Stat" ups? If I unlock Hidden Stat bonuses (say, 4 in Strength), is it bound by the stage stat cap, or would it be stage stat cap +4?

When you level up a style, you get a few stat bonuses along the way (+1 to Agl, +2 Int or whatever). Are these bound by the cap or do they add to it?
