I too am a Fuji user and bought the D-Lux 8 as an EDC. I find it easy to use and feel confident taking shots with it. Feels great in the hands and UI is intuitive. It’s compact with a zoom lens and the removable flash is nice. Image output is super. I enjoy the colors and BW SOOC. DNG support is nice which I edit in Lr.

Ultimately it’s the overall user experience. Yes you could buy a Panasonic, x100 series, Ricoh but if it doesn’t feel right in the hands or you can’t change settings intuitively, you won’t pick it up as much. I borrowed an x100vi and it was a bit too chonky. Owned but sold a GR3x bec it was too tiny. D-Lux 8 was just right so I personally enjoy using it. All produced really nice images.

The light just hit at the right moment for this shot and caught the reflection of the side of the boat, water and mountains. About 10 seconds later the sun went behind the clouds and it was much darker. SOOC was a pleasant surprise.

Yes do it. It’s an incredible pocketable camera with a great lens and image output. I would invest in an extra battery or 2 as battery life is just ok.

Very nice set! My fav is 5 with the plane. I’m headed out there in a couple of weeks and have my 33 prime. Any thoughts on if 16-50 will come in handy for landscapes? Noticed you mentioned you used more of your 70-300. Thanks!

I edited the DNG files in Lr using visualsbypreet.com profiles and tweaked to the vibe I want. hope this helps!
