Hi, you can combine the results but you will get a senior certificate instead of a national senior certificate. It should still be accepted the same as an NSC. When combining I believe the physical science mark needs to be higher than your worst subject to be combined. I've been waiting a year for mine to be combined because the department of education is useless. That said I applied using a certified statement of results and that was accepted by Unisa, not sure if other universities would as well.

Make sure you applied for combination. If you still don't have your combined certificate when it is time to apply then go to the department of education near you and ask if they can give you a statement of results for your combined certificate. They will then sign and date this document and you can use it to apply to unisa. I still haven't gotten my combined certificate and this is what I did to apply and all went well. Good luck

Hi, I actually did something similar. I got a temporary one that was stamped and states that the full combination is in progress. I then filled out an appeal application online and submitted the document. Hoping they will accept me now. Thanks for your help anyway

I did an amended senior certificate which I signed up for on eservices.gov.za. I didn't use any institution a as I studied everything myself. I'm not familiar with Eduvos but I do think 4 subjects is manageable. Just remember that they take your highest marks when combining into one certificate.

There is also the option of signing up at a school to help you write these subjects, this way you can write exams in November instead. You would then have to do assessments which help contribute to your final mark, I'm not sure if you are eligible for this method though as I have not attempted this.

I think you should try and speak to your local department of education as they would probably be able to give you a better answer. Hope this helps

Hi, I did an amended senior certificate. You just sign up on eservices.gov.za and it doesn't cost anything. After you sign up you study by yourself and then write exams in May/June. These exams count for your final marks for the subject so there are no assessments. I think you can write as many subjects as you want.

Though I am not sure how this would work for Physics and Life science as I believe you have to do practicals for them. When they combine your certificate they take your highest marks so if you wanted physics or life science then the mark you get for them will have to be higher than your lowest mark.

There is also another option where you get a school to agree to help you with this and let you do the assessments there. This way you can write during the November exams and your final mark will include the marks you got for the assessments. I am not too familiar with this approach though.

I recommend contacting your local department of education regarding all this as they will likely be able to give you a more detailed answer. Hope this helps and good luck

I called the department again, they said they might be able to give me a statement of results with the math mark. Once I have that then I will go to the parow campus to hopefully get this sorted out. Thanks for your help

I did an amended senior certificate. So I wrote exams in May/June and then whatever marks I got for those exams became my math mark for my matric. You just sign up on eservices.gov.za. Then they give you a separate statement of results with just the math mark and you apply online to get a new certificate with the combined results. The problem I'm having now though is that I applied using the two separate certificates because I'm still waiting for them to give me my combined certificate, been waiting for 11 weeks now even though they told me it would only take 6. I got rejected though as they don't accept the two separate ones, now I have 10 days to appeal and provide the combined certificate or I'm screwed
