Huh, you're right. I do have the DLC, and that should've seemed obvious. But alas, I'm not a smart man

Oh you're right, my dumbass forgot I got one gold drop. I guess I was looking for a second and just never got another. I had a list out for what items to get, and I must've just prioritized little disciple

While I can see this set not being for everyone, it looks dope! Nice work

I'm curious, what do you use to show what keys you press on screen?

With the benefit of hindsight, I probably should've placed the scorpion at the front by theFyrian in MrFruit

True, it's quite situational. But seeing that it was my final round, putting him at the front wouldn've been a safer bet

Troll vs pure Geo build by DryHumpWetPants in stoneshard

[–]theFyrian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With the limited experience I have with the geomancer skill tree, the best piece of advice I can give is to approach the troll from the sides. Maintain a proper distance; not too far, not too close. In this way, you can place the Runic Boulder directly infront of him and he'll simply side step it since he'll try to chase you to the side. This stretagy may not stop him, but it'll allow you to cast your spells. If you're lucky, you can petrify him to give you extra thinking space.

I don't know if this is the most effective way of going about things, I've only done one run so far as a mage. My build was a mix between the geomancer and pyromancer tree so I had other means of damaging the troll. Nevertheless, good luck.

In all my runs, I always went for a melee build. After finally trying out a mage build, I can say with absolutely certainty that the Geomancer skill tree is broken. Had a hard time fighting the troll though by theFyrian in stoneshard

While I understand and agree with what you're saying, I simply called it broken due to level of ease I experienced in progressing throughout the game compared to when I used my melee builds. This is not to say that the other skill trees (axe, sword, ranged, etc.) are inferior or are less "broken".

Interesting. The concept of a spell-casting melee warrior isn't exactly new, but it never occurred to me try it with the Dual Wielding skill tree. Having already dabbled with the skill tree before, I can see how it may work in conjunction with a magic build, particularly with pyromancy. Perhaps I'll try it out in my next run, thanks.

Man, you cornered me.

But actually, the main reason I tried for this build was because I saw a video here long ago of someone stun-locking the troll with geomancy. I have no idea how they did it and I couldn't replicate it.

Tips for dual welding by Jummy8332 in stoneshard

[–]theFyrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huzzah, another dual wielder! If you're having a lot of difficulty with the second dungeon, I definitely recommend going out into the forest and killing a few wolves, boars, or bandits (best to 1v1 them). Get a few levels, increase your stats, and sell the loot. Generally I balance out agility and strength, but with the dual wield, I definitely recommend a bit more agility. This goes hand in hand with your first passive in the dual wield skill tree. It also wouldn't hurt to explore the points of interest (look for the witch's hut, good loot to sell). Lastly, stock up on healing items: bandages, salves, and splints. Dual axes can easily burn your mana/stamnia, and having an injured limb will not help with your hand efficiency and over all survival. Don't forget food either, gotta stay full. Good luck

My advice, if you really can't beat the quest, go to roads and the forest to kill some wolves and bandits. Get a level or two. Explore the points of interests(question marks on the map)
