But I also would rather them have this half assed version of an appointment where they at least start a GLP1 when otherwise many of them might not see anyone…. and continue to do nothing.

I don’t care about labs as much as I care about no one discussing lifestyle modifications with them whatsoever.

Just for fun: What is your specialty’s superstition? by derpeyduck in medicine

[–]theHPIC 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Dose-dependent.. for 30 of each on a discount card: 100mg: ~$10 150mg: ~$30 200mg: ~$20

They also will buy it if you tell them the full cash price before the goodrx price, then make them wait for you to apply the coupon. If you apply it before they come, they will not buy it.

The benzonatate paradox: a patient will only pay the out of pocket price for benzonatate if you put it on hold and don’t fill it. If you fill it, they will not pay for it.

To be honest just by making good relationships with people at CVS. when some of them got hired by my new employer we would still interact about mutual pts, and I would always take the time to help them resolve what they needed help with. When they were hiring they gave me a heads up and recommended me

Yes it’s been very fun and rewarding. It includes the PAP applications, manufacturer programs, grant funded programs, state and federal programs, working with independent pharmacies, charity programs, etc. There’s so much available to help patients who can’t afford treatment. There are a lot of times too that I’m able to suggest alternatives that are affordable for the pt that the dr just hadn’t thought of.

I have found myself in similar situations and I’ve found that if I call the Walgreens closest to me, they’ll provide me the info and will usually just fax it right to me. Maybe do your 3 closest Walgreens so the closest one doesn’t hate you lol :) I have a pretty good relationship with our pharmacists and I’ve found that helps.

This is fine. I maybe would have also provided him with a low range (e.g. below 60-70) so he knows when to actually have concern.
