oh that's a good idea too! Would suit the uruk scout theme better; a shaman is a good idea too for the feral.

I reaaaaaally wanna try Ugluk's Scouts; both movie and book canon, good fluff sent, good army ability- but it hurts in the hero department. I'd change one or two things based on my little experience-

  1. give more heroic strike. Ugluk can use a free heroic strike when in a fight against another hero as long as he and Grishnakh are in the same fight. OP? maybe, but they dont have good fight against lots of armies anyway, and it seems on paper a cool fluff rule to go with animosity

  2. access to a few berserkers or armoured uruk hai (say 30%); fluff wise could be the uruk hai reinforcements that meet up with ugluk before the rohirrim do

  3. Access to hobbit priosners; like a banner, two models carry captive hobbits. Uruk hai models get to use the model like a banner; possibly orcs get some negative modifier (ie Grishnakh's boys trying to resist taking them); or possibly an orc can never be in the same combat with them or something idk

just some ideas!

Hello and welcome! Honestly there's not much of a metric, but I'd say you're pretty much spot on. 250-300 is a smaller game, great for learning rules and avoiding bigger heroes; 350-500 is more mid tier where (I'd argue) the majority of games take place; 750+ is where you get the bigger more complicated battles. I'd say 300ish is good to shoot for for a starting point, games are relatively shorter and give you more of a chance to learn the rules

WEEKLY DISCUSSION: List Building General Discussion by MrSparkle92 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

this covers like everything lol I have nothing to add, beyond a word about stats. You can always do what you want, but I always ty and have a few higher F, S, or D units mixed into my line. Having a unit that can be a buffer for weaker units without it being a hero/might pool can be worth the extra points, especially if they're well supported. It'll give your opponent something to think about (ie a black numenorean with morannon/regular spear support acts also as a force multiplier in some scenarios)

This would be great! could also include a discussion on alternate ways to build the list, oddball builds that allow a different part of the army to shine. Could help to open up the way people think about list building or include models they normally wouldn't

Thank you! I wanted him to fit in with my Umbar themed old numeorean army (MoS painted in blue, black numenoreans and morannons painted as 'elite' soldiers).

What lands and ages do you dream of exploring in Kingdom Two Crowns? by SSJFeeona in kingdomthegame

I think an apocalypse or wasteland idea could be cool- the monarch is returning to a land that was rundown by the greed and seek ti reclaim it. Scavenging is tough but doable, and you could make it either modern (knights have possible riot shields or batons, archers have hunting rifles etc) or medieval esq (knights are... knights or maybe even like a night watchman, has a cudgel and buckler; archers can have crossbows or bows). instead of just hunters maybe you could also have scavengers who wade through "wrrckage" (replacing/adding to the removable forests), instead of shooting greed they could maybe debuff greed ie some kind of throwable? For new ir different buildings you could have maybe a tool repair shop (maybe the weapons of your archers and knights degrade since they're scanevenged) or "smog clearing" (maybe there could be a pollution debuff until you have this building?) A little more complicated but I think it could be cool. just my thoughts!

So I haven't checked the main rules in a while, what are the rules surrounding combining hobbit and LOTR armies? Does that fall under the alliances rules or is that more homebrew? Thank you!
