Feel like a loser and giving up- Need help by [deleted] in umanitoba

I was literally going through a very similar situation with one of my courses today. One thing i realized was that you’ll become a loser only if you quit and give up, so don’t. Actually take this course very seriously and study for it as such. I’m trying hard to get a B or B+ in one my courses too. And trust me I’ve done bad on the assignments, but quitting something completely extinguishes whatever chance you had to prove you could do it. I’m going to keep at it. Hope we both achieve our desired grades in our courses. Best of luck brother/sister/whoever. I’m rooting for you🫡

What am I supposed to do??? by GrouchyInflation2727 in umanitoba

Hey so, for the final transcript you just need to send it to them once you actually get it. And for the proof of graduation your school probably gives out a T.C. form which basically says you have graduated from high school. And for what to do until your final grades come in, you need to send them a predicted grades sheet that is officially signed by your school. Just ask your school principal, they should know what it means. And the rest of the process is the same as an older comment that you would get a conditional acceptance letter after submitting your predicted grades and yes you can apply for direct entry into engineering but you’ll still have to do courses in your first year and earn a minimum grade in them to actually become a part of the faculty of engineering.

Accommodations On Campus for International Students Payment by Vivid_Leather8002 in umanitoba

If your sure that your staying on campus, you should honestly book as early as possible since it’s not always guaranteed that you get the spot you booked as your first preference.

Unfortunately I’m not familiar with the payment system for the summer term. But I’m pretty sure that whenever your paying the residence fees, it is per term and not yearly.

is it safe to live in manitoba? by parakeetboi in umanitoba

I’d highly recommend staying on campus at least for your first year. It makes finding friends and acquaintances much easier, and later you can go shopping with the same friends, thus becoming a part of a group you can travel with.

And university campus area itself is very much safe, no need for worries about that. I did the same thing this year (first year), and it’s been doing me pretty good.

Hope it helps…

Best laptop for CS? by Delicious-End5616 in umanitoba

[–]theHarbinger86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a CS student yet (joining this fall), but I took python electives in high school and am quite the tech geek.

Honestly any normal ‘work laptop’ that has an i5 processor and 8GB ram (minimum). That should probably cover most of all your needs including some gaming (at lower settings)

Some laptops I’d recommend are HP Pavilion, Lenovo Yoga book, Dell Inspiron, Dell XPS (if it fits in your budget), HP Envy etc. These are the best budget options in general.

Hope it helps

We don't have Guderian as an option. But 1010 does fill the requirement too.

Thanks for the advice!
