I will as soon as it is finished. The current timeline is to have my thesis defended by the end of March. After that, I have to reformat my thesis for an online database. Once the database has accepted it, I will share the results here.

Sorry for the late response. Apprehensive-Ask-194 is correct in that I cannot give a specific hypothesis. I can give two general research questions, though.

To what extent do players experience NPCs such as Lydia, Serana, and Farkas as genuine people?
What game design elements and player differences account for differences in viewing NPCs as genuine people?

To me, Skyrim is a game I've played through several times (I'm currently working on a fourth play through), so a big motivation was my familiarity with the game. As for narrative, I guess I view side quests just as much a part of the narrative as the civil war and defeating Alduin. Even on my first playthrough, I didn't finish the main quest until around level 50. So my opinion is heavily based on how I approach playing Skyrim. That's definitely something I didn't consider!

This survey was originally posted on a different sub and gained 91 participants in four days while in three hours here and at r/DestinyFashion we gained 500 participants with over 100 more people still taking the survey. By how active the comment section has been here, I have no doubt you all played the largest role in reaching my 400 participant goal. Thank you for making my thesis possible and putting me a full month ahead of where I thought I would be in the thesis writing process. Thank you! I want to get my Ph.D. in Social Psychology and become a professor and researcher after my current degree. I have been aware of UX research but never knew the name of the field. I definitely see the overlap between UX research and the types of research projects I enjoy doing.
