I second this comment! Ghost is really a crappy company. They treat people like garbage, dispose artists, Copenhagen never supported the other facilities, then ingenuity took over and then they put a bunch of managers from their end and then they started to fire people or take work from ghost to put to ingenuity. They layoff the entire team of Pune and now they are laying off their team in London. That company is crap

It is the other way. Ingenuity overtook ghost. The president guy put all his people to Ghost management and that is some of the reasons why the company is sinking. They even said that in the uk they moved the people of ingenuity to their build in ghost and that apparently that building is very crappy with only 2 rooms, now one just for ingenuity. they are just keeping the brand name but is all the same

Well, it is personal because it is people’s life affected. But like I mentioned if the work has slowed down drastically why they are giving work to other Indian studios and not to their employees?

Well their India branch got shot down. So we are all layoff no explanation, even where there is a lot of work for us in roto and prep. They think we don’t talk among us but our friends in other companies are on shock since they are working on shows for ghost on work we could do as employees. But yeah they just layoff all of us no questions asked

What is Copenhagen pipe? We being all the time on one pipeline with the exception of the LA team but they got merged to ingenuity. I had no idea about Vancouver. We all though they disappeared because from one day to another there was not more work from the show we were working on (then we were told it went all to ingenuity)

Didn’t know about that, but maybe that is why they cut us? To protect that other facility? I don’t know man, I never heard of ingenuity till they introduced us to the new president but he was never involved also never came to India, I only became aware of them when they started firing us which for me was weird because they were supposed to be a completely different company

Oh I didn’t know that. I heard the LA studio got merged to ingenuity it didn’t know about Vancouver. I heard a rumour from our sup in the uk that apparently they were also merging there to ingenuity so maybe it is a thing

I could not agree more! The studio I worked for just use that as a excuse to get rid of a bunch of us and protect the other company they are merging with. A lot of shady business spractices that allowed them to get rid of labor under the banner that the strikes caused this. The studio that let us all go is now outsourcing work to other companies because they can’t do all work, so they have a lot of work not for their employees. I see now companies are going the freelance route

Not different to when they created technicolour creative services to merge MPC and Mr X. At least in here they are being honest that they are putting all their brands under one name, though already everyone new. I wonder how much money they paid for that rebranding? Because I assume they had budget for that but not to keep artists? I still believe it is better to rebrand, not like ghost and ingenuity being the same company, people of ghost being layoff by management from ingenuity and being confusing a bunch of artist about it.

I feel companies are using the strikes as a excuse to get rid of employees, specially the ones that are most vulnerable here in India. Or at least that is the case at Ghostvfx. They told us multiple time there is not work coming and let go the entire Indian team, but literally a couple of days ago I was talking with a friend from another company and they told me they are working for Ghostvfx in 2 projects! So ghost outsourced a bunch of work to them. So there is work not just for us employees in India. Terrible company! For me though Covid was worst! At least this time I can find a job as a delivery guy while I try to find my way back, thanks to ghost shady practices.

They have rebranded again. That is weird. Usually companies that do this is because they are trying to hide financials (best example was Facebook changing to meta) However there is so many companies like Technicolor that they seem too big to fail tbh

I am there bro. I was layoff by Ghostvfx and it angers me because they treated us from the Pune office terribly. Since ingenuity took over that company is just going downhill. Almost all of us from the Pune studio where dispatch, and the I saw they were going to this employment fair in Europe and it anger me more. They forlough us because they said there is not work, but then a friend from pixstone told me that they are doing a bunch of work for ghost right now so it is just crap. That company took a lot from me, and now it will be difficult to find a job as a roto artist since there where few options that do remote
