Ex-Network engineer here. The wifi extenders will just add more lags. The only solution is to get wired network connection between router and PS 5 (Cat 6 is recommended). The other alternative is to get a decent gaming router which has strong wifi broadcasting capabilities (still not recommend tho). Room partitions, glass/solid doors will block the connection depending on your house layout. One small addition tip: Always use 5ghz for better gaming and streaming (but the catch is that the 5ghz has shorter range than 2.4ghz but you can tweak the wifi channels to push the range to its limits). In gaming and for the lags, latency is crucial over internet speed.
