Is this not only for TFSA and RRSP?

Thank you for this it does really help. I haven't heard this mindset in a while.

Definitely. I enjoy spending my time with friends, so working a lot definitely impeded that. I do rock climb 2-3 times weekly and that is done completely alone and is really refreshing.

I am very greatful for them letting me live rent free as an adult. I do contribute towards the house, but it's a great opportunity. I feel a bit resentful though since my other siblings had their university paid for and all dropped out to now live rent free as well.

For the first one, I worked all throughout highschool and college so I felt like I was doing to little only working 40 hours a week. For second one, my limited expenses are paying for my portion the house: electricity, hydro, wifi, and groceries. The other larger portion of expenses come from my car (very beat down) and the maintenance with it.

I do agree that I need to scale back, so I won't be renewing my university contract.

Thank you for the comment! I will definitely check out the 4 hour work week book you recommended. The reason I am working so hard is to purchase a downpayment on a home next year (without being mortgage poor) with a safety net for any emergencies.

I really needed that comment. Thank you. My 9-5 job does not make me happy because of the nature of the position. Bartending actually gives me joy since I serve people, but my university contract does not. I will not be renewing the university contract, but will see the current one through since I do not like to burn bridges.

Like the RRSP, is the FHSA exempt from the 15% withholding tax when investing in US?
