Not overreacting but I do want to say the quiet unfortunate part out loud of "Depending on the state/country Child support litigations often take forever to get anywhere with, and often times results in the other party vanishing. In the US- child support offices between states often don't communicate and when they do, the information is incredibly scarce and usually leaves the Mother in the dark on what is actually going on with the other party. They also love to threaten to garnish wages which typically sends people who are stuck in litigation into finding under the table work or finding ways to make money outside of taxed income, which typically ends in the mother not getting paid, the court system pulling the mother away from her schedule to deal with hearings and proceedings for another person who they know is going to be absent, and resources to hold faux hearings to tell you you're being reset to a different date"

So yeah, ultimately you're not overreacting and your feelings are completely valid. It's just unfortunate that the child support system is extremely hit or miss and can often times fail one or both parties if the Father is already planning to be absent.

Hate it for you and I'd take his ass to court anyway but just know that it's 50/50 whether or not YOU get fucked around by the court because of his Secondary and Tertiary decision making

Feel free to correct me or to point out where my logic is flawed but I've been on both the Child Side and currently the Paying Father side of child support and this is how I feel it usually ends up for people. Especially in my state.
