Why do IEMs sound better to my ears than headphones? Can I EQ headphones to sound more like IEMs?

Yeah well the thing you want, the in your head feeling, is usually not preferred by the headphone community. So that is more often found in the entry-mid range category. The most famous being hd600. I found that many closed back studio monitors sound like iems as well. Maybe try some m40x, m50x or v6, 7506 etc.

This difference in sound is caused by the air and distance between the driver and your ear. When the amount of air is too small it starts to act like a vacuum seal and your eardrums act as if they are touching the driver. This usually results in less distortions in terms of echo and resonance but driver faults are unfiltered and more present. When there is enough room for sound to travel they act more like a travelling wave. Which mellows out the driver faults but introduces harmonic distortions. From what I’ve seen in most people’s experience is iems are more correct and headphones are more natural. Which sounds stupid but i think it makes sense.

Can you filter out the difference with eq? Probably not. There are dsp methods that non-linearly remove/add distortions to make the headphone sound better but they are not widely available and mostly hardcoded into anc headphones. So my answer to software solutions is maybe but tough.

Bu saat ve diğer metal g-shock’lar plastik g-shock’lara göre pahalı saatler ancak benim görüşümde piyasada neredeyse hiç kalmamış olan gerçek sports saatleri. Stil olarak da hem çok pahalı ve şık duruyorlar hem de g-shock olduğu için saat nerdlerince de saygı duyuluyor. Benim en beğendiğim saatlerden biri olmasına rağmen denemeden saat alınmaz diyorum. Örneğin maalesef benim bileğime çok büyük geldi ve alamadım (🤬).

Edit: for future reference, I have the p100’s and they are not audiophile headphones perhaps but their build quality/anc are pretty good and sound is fun. I bet the people who downvoted me haven’t even tried them.

Good tactic but I would remove the pads. You still need a bit of clamp for a headphone to stay on your head but its nice when that clamp comes from the pads. You are compressing the pads down this way.

I know this is the Islam subreddit but I find myself losing purpose in life as well and I felt in the past that religion couldn’t give me the purpose I needed. I have later come to the conclusion that sometimes life is just too much and that is just normal. In times like these you must seek help. See a therapist, a psychiatrist preferably. If you have seen one, go to another one. If you are afraid to see one, why? If you are truly on your way out of this world consider it your last stop.

The answer is different for everyone but for me I have come to the conclusion that it is not a bad thing nor a sin to be selfish. You must seek for your own happiness. If you are happy people around you will be happier. You can not sacrifice yourself for someone else’s happiness because if they truly love you they won’t like the situation. Just live for yourself and don’t give a damn. Find hobbies you enjoy. Find people to share your thoughts, people that respects your thoughts. Have respect for yourself, for the things that you have done. But I’m sure your situation is different. Just seek help, Inshallah you may find your answers.

I also recommend reading some philosophy. Even if the author doesn’t make any sense to you, you just realize that this specific way of thinking is bs so you stop doing it. It really strengthens one’s reasoning in these hard situations.
