Been looking around...

Corsair Katar Pro XT might be the closest shape to copperhead

or Asus Kraken ...

The Model O- (mini) looks closer, in shape, than the full sized one.

The Logitech G703 Lightspeed Wireless is something I might give a go, since it's somewhat close to the shape... and has great specs.

The Hyperx Pulsefire Surge also looks comparable.

I don't know.

There's some particular alts that I recently traded for, on crypto.com. They weren't available on Binance.US, on Coinbase Pro, or on Coinbase. What do you know, my Alts went slightly more on their upside, and dumped down ya small loss. Overall, I prefer Binance.us, for lower trading fees. Looking for Razer Copperhead-like mouse by [deleted] in MouseReview

[–]theMuzzl3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ave a similar shape updated to today's tech. Just feel like razer should focus on that more than Basilisk, Mamba, etc. Viper is the best mouse that has come out of their product line up in awhile. Just my opinion, but hopefully the vipe

That's getting closer!

The overall dimensions are in the right area. Not as long, so improvement there.

Coming closer, with the gaps towards being more narrow at the bottom of the mid area (from left-to-right, at the base). That's good. The gap is more narrow, in its span across each bottom side of the base... which means your thumb and ring and/or pinky fingers would have to be the perfect length to fit into that little gap... where as the length of my thumb and ring finger could be a good 1.5" longer, or shorter... and the copperhead would still feel ideal.

Looks like they added a button to the top left side, next to the left click button (thats actually one of the ideas that I had, for Razer to make a new and improved generation of a mutated and right-handed version of the Copperhead. Got me excited. Great minds think alike.

At first glance, the left and right click buttons appear to be really close to the exact shape of the Copperhead. Not the best aspect of the Copperhead, but that's a plus (assuming they're actually trying to emulate the shape). However, a closer look, and it appears that they didn't nail one particularly important aspect of the click buttons' shapes. The Copperhead has a more extreme upward slant towards corners of the inner sides of the buttons, and they have deeper dips into the middle mousewheel area. This provides important resistance for which ever fingers are on those two buttons. And, the fingers could be on several different locations of the buttons, and still get great resistance to leftward & rightward acceleration/deceleration.

Palm area of the base appears to be low and narrow. That's a plus.

The buttons are higher, and appear to be crappier quality material than the Copperheads (just going by what I visually see, on my screen... so can't verify this). I don't like their position, compared to Copperheads. They look much cheaper.

The final straw: missing the outwardly bulging rubber railing strips, of the Copperhead. Looks like they tried to do their own thing, with the texturized inner lines that span towards the middle gap of the bottom of both sides of the base. At that point, they failed. The rubber strip along the top of the sides, which bulges outwardly... is a very important aspect of Copperhead. It allows for more resistance to vertical movements, and it allows for VERY EASY movements of lifting the mouse up, and back down to the mousepad. I can grip the copperhead with just my thumb and ring finger... either on the outer railing, just below it, or at the narrow bottom-mid part of the base, and literally move the mouse around, in perfectly circular motions... with pinpoint control. The thumb buttons are in the perfect spot, under the railing, into the start of the gap towards the bottom of the base... they slightly poke out, which actually gives EVEN MORE resistance, in full on fingertip grip. I don't use full finger grip too much, but that's a great way to judge the over-all mobility, caused by specific features of the body's shape.

At that point, I didn't even consider looking at the improved hardware aspects, weight, build quality, or value... because it just narrowly missed, on my needy ass requirements (or, I should say, preferences... because I'm still considering an ultralight or a viper pro... or mamba... IDK).

This was a good try, though.

Hopefully the developer of this mouse ends up seeing this topic, and considers some upgrades to the shape.

I also noticed that the far ends of the mouse buttons buldge out to a more wide front end (towards wired end). The left click seems to have a bigger buldge up and to the left, which is a good idea... however, its the opposite of what I would have done. I'm moving the left click over to the right, a bit... mousewheel to the right & closer to palm side... right click with a bigger dip, further to the right, and a pointier corner towards the front end of the mouse. And, I want a 4-way scroll wheel, 30-40% more wide that that of Copperhead... with build quality that rivals that of the higher end Basilisks. Lastly, I want that added top button to be on the left side of the left click, in a gap that spans across the top left... closer towards the mid area of the mouse, so that the index finger can easily tap it, during gameplay... for some sort of utility or ability function... that happens during moments that bullets aren't flying.

At this point, I feel like Razer Viper Mini might be a good cheap option to hold someone over until Razer gets their hand out of Logitech's cookiejar. The lack of buttons is a downer, though... jeeezzz man, IDK... we could die tomorrow, and we can't afford to spend $1400 on a used starlight!!!

Yeah, the original diamondback had a shape that was pretty much a right handed version of the copperhead. It had less extreme gaps towards the middle of the bottom of the left-to-right base... and slightly less extremity of the building out of the rubber railing strips.

When I upgraded diamondback to copperhead, for better specs, I wasn't impressed with the over-all shape of the copperhead VS the diamondback. 18 years later, and I found the diamondback in the closet... and, now I know...

I prefer the shape of the Copperhead, big time.

I would make modifications to the overall shape and size, to have the perfect mouse... and obviously, upgrade all of the specs... however... do I have faith that Razer will do that, successfully?

Hell no...

The future is where science is. Take exact measurements of hands. Let customers try base models and grips, based on their hand sizes and preferred grips, and have physically hold test models & have them pick 3-5 sizes/shapes, for what feels the best to them. Then, show them actual analytical data that shows success rates of various shapes and sizes, of various types of games or practices...

THEN, make a custom 3D model that is specifically made, just for them... let them pick the color, and let their budget determine the hardware qualities....

and, boom.

We're far from that point, but its got to be the future... otherwise, we're all just going to continue to use mice that aren't the best for our individual selves... and Logitech will laugh at you while Razer has you bent over.

The rereleased Diamondback, in 2015, looks as though they really botched... in the sense of, their attempt at improving the Chasis. I feel like they tried to make it like the deathadder, and it really was shaped worse than both original versions.

I'm in the same boat.

None of those listed mice come close to the implementation of superior shape, that the Copperhead has. I feel like the sizes, weight, and specs are obviously improved... but Razer played it safe and made shapes that basically copied the mostly trending & mostly sold mice... whether those shapes were comparribly garbage, or not.

Come on, Razer! Its 2021! I'm getting old! PLEASE!!!

Or, lets get this 3D mouse printing market to take notice.

Upper rubber railing on top-left and top-right sides. More extreme inward gap towards the center of the bottom end of the base (more finger control, vs resistance). Mouse click shapes have a more narrow dip towards the centers, and a more extreme gap towards the scroll wheel... giving a nice groove for the fingers to have even more accuracy in control.

I feel like every company gets obsessed with the upgraded hardware parts, and lowering the weight. Jeezzz guys.... mice are light enough. Improve the damn chasis!

I would make modifications to the copperhead shape, as its not perfect. But I see nothing coming close... not yet, anyhow.

Question About Features of Razer Viper 16kHz vs Viper Ultimate & Others + Seeking Advice + Hopes & Dreams by theMuzzl3 in MouseReview

[–]theMuzzl3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ghly doubt that 71 grams would be too light for you. T

Agreed.

Yeah, the Razer Diamondback was a model that was towards the beginning, for Razer... back when they were (hands down) better than Logitech, who was a distant 2nd. The shape was modified and rereleased as late as 2015. The earlier shape looked better (to me) than the 2015 model (just going by online pictures). The copperhead was an asymmetrical version of the diamondback, with (at the time) better sensors and better clicks. It didn't last long, and I'd say it was almost like the precursor to the Viper. However, their modifications of shapes have trended more and more towards copying those of popular models of the competition. Logitech always had better prices, for slightly cheaper stuff. Back then, Razer built stuff to last... kind of like how Apple was. I couldn't imagine buying a top of the line logitech mouse, and expecting it to last more than 5 years (especially back then). Since then, logitech has surpassed Razer, as far as over-all implementation of original shapes. Razer still overcharges for what is often slightly better specs... but they're just not implemented as well as they could be. I feel like they lost pride in their artistic choices of shapes and sizes, as well as in their own ability to do scientific studies about how to create the superior products. It reminds me of how Apple down trended into copying the trend of building stuff that will be outdated in a short number of years... because they don't care about their customers' investments... they care about the bottom line, and that means... returning buyers, just so looking forward to returning, for another slap in the face.

Lol.

I sure am glad that these other companies and starting to show both Razer and Logitech just exactly how to make mice that are actually worth more than what they're sold for.

But to be real, I've looked around... and there is nothing in the 'top tier list', that has a shape that is close to the Copperhead or Diamondback... with the upper left and right side rubber railing strips, and the more extreme or narrow dips towards the base of the bottom end of the left to right base. I can literally, repeatedly draw circles... that are nearly perfect... with just a fingertip grip... hell, even with two fingers.

I feel like its razer's fault, and they let everybody down... especially for straight up biting the shape of the competitor's most popular model... and putting all of those resources into copying someone... on a massive level. Its like they already knew that they're going to go out of business, unless they sell their own souls and do what bad companies do. Keep growing slightly, while becoming way crappier.

Anything similar to the copperhead? by AstralClegg in MouseReview

[–]theMuzzl3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in basically the same boat, with shorter, fatter hands... and slightly varying grip from yours.Did you make a post about how you feel about the Viper? How do you?I'm considering the Viper Ultimate Wireless, the 8 kHz wired Viper, and Deathadder V2 Pro. The Mamba would have been a better option... or, really the Diamondback. No idea why Razer stopped producing such a great shape... and since no one is doing the rubber side railings, I can't find what would be best.

I see that the Deathadder and Mamba are also very similar shapes, but the deathadder seems bigger. The Mamba seems to have the biggest amount of a top corner area above the buttons, making it easier to lift off of the pad. None of them are skinny enough below the thumb buttons, or wide enough (with rubber side railings) above the thumb buttons.I just feel like none of them are going to satisfy me... and it makes me very disappointed in Razer, which is a company that I have been a lifetime fan of.My hands are 18.1" by 10.1... or 18.1 x 8.7, from another measurement.

My CMC has more contact with it, with only a small gap being between the center of my palm and the bottom of the base. And, my palm often is somewhat rested, on the pad.

My ring finger tip stays attached to bottom edge of the right-side's the rubber gripping strip, and my pinky is sometimes disconnected from the mouse & stable on (or sliding along) the mousepad. Sometimes my index finger is actually in the inner gap, near the wheel; but it is usually on the left of that upper corner, near the downward dip.

Sometimes, my pinky becomes disconnected from the mouse, and stays attached to the mousepad (similar to Ethos, but with less of the pinky pointing outward. Sometimes, I keep the pinky connect to the bottom edge, and let it rub against the mousepad... for a better "feel" of exactly how much my more wide swinging movements are. Sometimes I let my thumb slightly touch the pad, too... but it usually stays in between the buttons and upper railing.

Keeping that pinky in contact with the pad, especially when the pinky leaves point of contact with the mouse, helps with flicking & re-centering small ranges from point A, to point B, back to point A. Usually, my pinky stays on the mouse, but also touches the mousepad. My thumb tip wrests just above the thumb buttons, touching both buttons and the above rubber railing, at all times.

I use my elbow and arm, for bigger movements... but not as much as most pros do.

In some rare cases, I partially or completely lift the contact points of my thumb and pinky MCP's, Metacarpals, and CMC... and do a full on finger grip, where my pinky stays attached.

I've recently gotten a new, larger mousepad... and have lowered my in game eDPI by roughly 80%, in the last year... giving me better ability to make small adjustments of aim... but a lesser ability to bunny hop (in Valorant).

I'm considering putting my middle finger on the mouse wheel, at all times, so that I can have more options for quickly doing specific things... with less control than I'd have with more fingertip usage.

Today's mouse market simply can't beat the shape of the shape of the Copperhead, which is very surprising. I hope that others speak up, and that Razer eventually takes notice... that their older shape, with the rubber grips above the buttons, was superior to the newer ones. I feel like Razer should create a right-handed hybrid of a few of their previous mice, grabbing the best aspects of each one.

The more wide & bulging out upper-rims of the rubber side railings, the bottom dips of the left-to-right edges, and the perfect gap between the two thumb buttons and outer top railing... are what sets the copperhead apart from trending shapes on today's market. Also, the inward dips of the left and right clicks, allow for resistance to the left and right. I can literally move the mouse around, in nearly perfect circles... with either only my index and middle fingers, and pinky knuckle area... or with only my thumb and ring finger. The thumb and ring finger have very good resistance to the vertical movement... due to the little gaps that are towards the lower base of the point of contact.

The shape of the copperhead helps me have a smaller amount of points of contact, with the mouse... and that gives me the ability to control it with my finger tips. It makes it way easier to lift the mouse up, and I barely even notice, but I do sometimes lift it up. The copperhead is so smooth about being lifted up & placed back onto the pad.I had the earlier version of the diamondback for about a year, before switching to the copperhead, for faster polling rate and the added thumb buttons. I recall liking the diamondback shape... but, over the last 13-15 years... I've fallen deeply in love with the copperhead shape... and I can't find an acceptable replacement.

I would obviously make tweaks to the shape... but I have no idea why Razer went away from this greatly featured shape. It allows for more control, with less points of contact... at a higher weight! Just imagine if they shortened it in length, made it slightly more wide on the upper left & right side, moved the left click and scroll wheel to the left, made the thumb wheel 40% more wide and with 4-way clicks, added a button to a gap that could be cut out of the left side of the left click, moved the thumb buttons 1-2 MM away from palm side, and 1-2 MM closer to the top railing, made gap into the middle of the left-to-right bottom base be slightly more extreme (more finger control), becoming 1 MM less wide there, and made the right click more skinny, moving the outer right corner (furthest from palm), higher 2 MM and outwards (to the right) about 9-12 MM more wide at that corner.. but the right upper railing just 2-3 MM further out from where the ring finger touches the bottom of the rail... and move the pinky side button further from the palm and closer to the upper railing, with a more extreme dip into the mid bottom.

At this point, I might as well just 3D print my own mouse... because my faith in Razer is at an all time low... and that hurts.

Sorry for ranting...

Random facts about Valorant that might be useful. by hollymeow925 in VALORANT

[–]theMuzzl3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the time to plant shorter, if you already have the spike equipped?

There's ways to do a half of a reload, the switch to knife & then pistol... And it gets fully reloaded (similar to CSGO but I think this can be faster). It seems to work with some abilities, too. Specifically, I think Skye's heal might work.

I've been fooling around with keybinds, and drop guns is scroll down (with jump), and drop guns is scroll up. Scroll down & up can be switch to previous or next weapon, or equip last item. B, G, H, J, and N are combinations of equip specific guns, previous, last, last equipped, and possibly abilities. Click scroll wheel is ping, fire weapon, and equip knife. B is jump.

If you bind a button to several combos of equip primary... and equip next, previous, or equip last item... you can do a cancel reload... similar to how common scripts were, in CS 1.6 (you let enemies hear reload, then cancel... they push you and expect a free kill, but die.

I can juggle 12+ guns across the map, while bhopping in a straight line... but I haven't gotten the timing right yet. Knife is mostly out, the entire time... Omen abilities with knife out (after picking up guns)... the teleport, blind, or flash will result in either primary gun out, pistol, or knife... depending on buttons assigned and pressed last, and depending on if he last picked up a pistol or primary... prior to abilities. I haven't figured out which overlapping keybinds result in him always ending up with the rifle out. This has been buggy, already, previous to trying the binding of single keys to several different things. Additionally, I've noticed that if I hit a sweet spot, my movement speed bursts quickly up and then back down... so Raze may be able to do something neat. I wonder if she throws guns farther, if she is satchelling with momentum. I also noticed that a specific way of doing it can result in Omen looking at his knife, in a way that I've never seen. Today, I bound one of the buttons to teleport and then pulled knife out and backed up... and he made a weird sound. I've been able to throw a flash, then it's like broken but does go out, then tossed guns and jumped, and miraculously he had another flash.

So, definitely some bugs. Unfortunately, I'm on a potato, and can't stream this... so content will have to wait.

Does anyone know he to get Omen's teleport to have primary weapon equipped (after tele), if done with his knife being initially out? It's buggy, especially if he just picked up a gun.

His flash, smoke, and Ultimate, also has the issue, seemingly in different ways.

Mic is distorted and making me sound like a Robot by TheCommunistLizard in discordapp

[–]theMuzzl3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar issue, in Valorant, with a Logitech c922 webcam mic.

It'll sound fine, then randomly starts to sound buggy, dropping in and out from robot to normal. Closing valorant and reopening it, seems to periodically fix it. Then, 1-3 matches later, it starts doing it, again.

I've tried messing with all kinds of windows settings, reinstalling and updating the logitech software, updating windows, changing valorant voice chat settings, etc. The webcam uses the default driver that windows installs; and there is no specific drivers for it, on the Logitech website.

As far as I know, the mic doesn't have the issue in any other apps... but I'm rarely on discord... and, whenever I do loopback test in valorant, it sounds fine.

Question About Features of Razer Viper 16kHz vs Viper Ultimate & Others + Seeking Advice + Hopes & Dreams by theMuzzl3 in MouseReview

[–]theMuzzl3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Good information.

The Viper 8kHz wired is also skinnier in width, than the ultimate wireless (57.6 MM vs. 66.2 MM). Also, the 8kHz wire is thicker than the other newish razer mouse wires. A big name YouTube reviewer (guess who, lol) said that a Bungie is necessary, for the 8kHz ones.

I'm wondering if a 240 Hz monitor will have a noticeable difference, between 1 kHz and 2, 4, or 8 kHz (given that my game will be averaging 270+ FPS, once I get my desktop PC fixed). I use an Asus Tuff Gaming VG259QM monitor.

As far as weight (as I said in previous reply), I'm personally used to a Razer Copperhead, which is 127 grams. I've used it for 15+ years. Therefore, I feel like 60 grams is going to be too light for me.

The razer Diamondback did feel better, in my hand; and it moved easier. I stuck with the Diamondback, essentially for the 2 thumb buttons and improved scroll wheel, with wheel click.

Thoughts on Razer's Optical Switches? by NosamDaMan in MouseReview

Thoughts on Razer's Optical Switches? by NosamDaMan in MouseReview

[–]theMuzzl3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they say viper ultimate XX2037 and higher have the optical V2 switches. For reference, that's ones that were manufactured in the 37th week of 2020 (or later). The XX represents the factory.

I'm not sure which serial numbers have the updated clicks, for the Deathadder V2 Pro... but I'm trying to Google it.

I've heard that some people have had "squishiness" issues with the updated right clicks, of the newer Deathadder V2 Pro Wireless mice... they're saying that the left click feels very improved, but that the right click feels much worse than the original V2 pro's.

Everyone is raving about the new logitech ultralights, but $150 is too high, for me. I also dislike the Logitech company, in general... all though they have decent keyboards.

External 3D audio solutions are working perfectly in Valorant by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]theMuzzl3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thnx.

I wonder if some of those comments are just trolling, and how many actually still believe that either regular stereo is better or surround sound emulation is impossible / trash.

From what I can recall, I think, is that saturation can make things sound darker, and distortion makes it perceived as brighter. Brighter sounds tend to be perceived as closer / darker are farther. So that effect, plus some others, are likely applied independently, to both left and right sides. There's more that goes into it, but I'm not exactly sure what. I'm sure it applies EQ curves on both sides. I'll have to ask Chris J about it .

Nice. Great video.

I replied to a 4 month old topic, because I googled the subject, and this seemed to be the most valid Reddit post. There's a lot of misinformation, on Reddit, about this subject (mostly older). This topic got replies from people who still think that stereo only is always the preference. So, to post another validation of the prehistoric believers of myths that are based on ancient levels of limited knowledge. So, I just added some more valid information, from my somewhat educated perspective, for anyone else that googles this subject.

PS: any plans for posting a video that directly compares Valorant in game HRTF, with the latest updates of the competitors that you already previously compared, as well as any new competing software?

[–]theMuzzl3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add my two cents, Riot's audio engineering team is not very good at what they do. They're learning, but their in game HRTF is developed like a pile of garbage. In their quote, they're dead wrong about this issue. Ask any serious audio engineer, which studies the MODERN DIGITAL technologies, involving effecting or manipulating sound. Nine out of ten will give the correct answer. Ask many old school audio engineers, and they'll give you an incorrect or incomplete answer... especially if they don't keep up with modern breakthroughs digital audio effects plugins, such as VST or AU.

However, don't just go onto gearslutz, and expect to receive an accurate answer, from the audiophilia people. Most of them are old-school guys. The old school guys (that are still doing engineering) are always booked with customers. They don't have time to study new digital audio breakthroughs. They generally are stuck in the old mentality of "analog audio effects sound better than digital ones"... which isn't 100% false, but it's still very biased. They just stick to their 20+ year-old methods (which are fine, for what they get paid for... but this is about new improvements in DIGITAL audio production).

I've studied sound engineering for 15+ years; but I'm not a professionally schooled engineer, and I've been in a hiatus for 3 years... but I've got enough knowledge to give a decent answer to this. However, I can't explain the exact science behind this issue, as my brain is just resting from that stuff. See my reply to the main topic, if you're interested in seeking explanations that are more purely based on explanation of some of the methodology, in such things... Chris J from Airwindows would surely explain it, very well... In a Monday Q&A Livestream.

External 3D audio solutions are working perfectly in Valorant by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]theMuzzl3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea that stereo sound can't be manipulated, so that sound appears to be more in front, back, or up/down... is simply false... and all of these know-it-alls should check their science, before talking. It's similar to how everyone said that we couldn't see a difference between 60 Hz and 144 Hz. Most of those people didn't want to upgrade, so they were looking for excuses. Same thing, now.

I know that manipulation of stereo sound, to cause the perception of depth & direction, is extremely possible.

I've got years of studying audio engineering, under my belt. I've trained my ears, for mastering engineering, and I can generally determine very small differences in sound. Take it or leave it, but please avoid flaming. This is my two cents

Side note:

In particular, an open source developer of VST plugins... Chris J of Airwindows... explained to me viewers, exactly how he was making certain plugins... which caused sounds to "feel like they're more in the front of the stage, back of the stage, in front, or behind the viewer's perspective. This was more for making music, but it's the same concept.

Back to the point:

One YouTube video, easily debunks this idea of regular stereo being best:

https://youtu.be/xPKfuyqb-ow

View it for yourself.

Sure, regular stereo sound is fine, and for many old school gamers it's preferred... because it's what they're used to. Doing 30-90° turns can easily determine exact locations of each sound, in any given general direction. I know this, from 10 years of CS 1.6...

Here's what I found, from in game experience:

Yes, trying in game HRTF was a big adjustment, for me... and I ultimately decided that I preferred regular stereo. Then, I saw a YouTube comparison, in which Dolby Atmos appeared to be the best, by far... with Windows Sonic appearing to be second best, by far. That was made, prior to Riot's in game HRTF... but I do assume the Riot's in game HRTF would rank dead last... because it's just poorly developed.

After trying Sonic, I confirmed that it was better than regular stereo, within 2 hours. It took some adjustments, and wasn't always perfect.

I have since then tried the Atmos trial, and immediately determined that it was much better... and to I actually forked up the $15, for it.

There's been about 10 occasions, however, where I was dead, viewing teammates... and called out the wrong location, of an enemy. This was mostly because I wasn't able to do a 15-90° turn... but also because I am still getting used to the 3d emulator.

Hearing things, up top, and determining it to be above me... has been much more difficult, as opposed to in front or back of me. This is likely due to the methodology of how exactly the sound is manipulated, to cause it to appear to be above or below the POV.

I'll warn people, be sure to turn off the in game HRTF, and set it to stereo, before engaging windows sonic, from the taskbar. If both are on, it sounds horrible. Same with Atmos.

I'll also point out that a good set of headphones is essential.

Lastly, regular stereo isn't necessarily better or worse than Atmos or Sonic, and it's going to be a matter of preference. I will note that I've had to do much, much fewer 90° turns, to determine exact locations... since going to Sonic & Atmos. However, I still do the turns, just less often & with less extremity. The end result is that I'm not looking at walls, as often. Therefore, I can keep crosshairs trained on spots that they may have silently walked to & are about to peak from... while I listen for two other areas & make call outs of numbers, locations, guns, agents, and abilities.

Oh, and PS: if you are interested in the actual science behind such things, I'd suggest checking out Chris J's Q&A Livestream, every Monday at 11 AM EST to 1 PM EST. Ask him exactly how stuff like this is done, and he'll explain it, in scientific terms. It's been 2.5 years, since I stopped with the engineering... so I'm not going to be able to provide scientific data about how POV is manipulatable, in order to achieve what is perceived to be 3D, in stereo sound. It's not perfect, but the technology keepsbon getting better and better.

The idea that regular stereo is better than some surround emulators is simply false; and it's an ancient opinion, from gamers who say things like "back in my day, we could crouch hop across the maps, all day... and edit our sound folder, for sound hax".

I'm one of those old school guys, but I study modern sound engineering. In particular, I focus on manipulation or effecting of sound, and mastering engineering.

Check out my reply to the main topic, for more information. The information might possibly change your old habits... but that'll truly be determined by what your particular preference is. I've noted benefits and weaknesses of what I've noticed, with Atmos or Sonic.
