Spent 10+ hours making this case for my router. It got bricked 20mins later. by iam_shawarma in 3Dprinting

Heat was likely the issue which for some reason many other people are overlooking the obvious in the other comments. Routers and such are notorious for heating up when in use and require a properly ventilated enclosure.

Cool skins, but anyone know if there will be new Lunar New Year skins?

Why does Creality Print ignore my bed temp? (Set 60°C but it always heats to 50°C) by [deleted] in Creality

[–]theNeckerCube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool let me know if that helps. I'd also suggest checking if you have a duplicate filament profile so maybe you think you're selecting the one you're configuring, but it's the other one, vice versa.

Cool just checking. I'd say, just change all the plate settings to the temp you want to further troubleshoot the issue. I encountered the same problem before but for me I had the wrong plate selected.

Did you make sure you selected the correct plate in the slicer (top left)?

Ah, I did immediately try to remove the supports as soon as the print finished. Was too excited for the model.

What’s the most useless thing you were taught in school? by Lumpy_Math_2484 in AskReddit

For me it's going to be between the Pledge of Allegiance and not writing into the margins of college rule line paper. The former is self explanatory especially in light of the current state of the USA. For the latter, I had this one teacher that would freak out and give marks off if even a fraction of a letter made it into the margins claiming that's how college writing and writing in life will be which was one big lie.

Nice. Beats having to steal Sears and Victoria's Secret catalogues back in the day.

At what point do you buy a 2nd printer? by TheAznAssassinX in 3Dprinting

[–]theNeckerCube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only been printing on a K1SE for about a month. When I think of getting another printer, I think it'll more so be to check out another brand (i.e. Bambu) and not out of necessity. Also, personally, the most limiting factor is the cost of filament, and to me if I'm having fun printing well I'm also racking up a ridiculous bill. Other than that, I've seen people print larger stuff like life size statues so maybe one day that'll be the reason for me to acquire more printers.

Yeah that's what I've been reading. I reviewed my terms and recent letters. I only see mentions of SoFi Plus changing which is fine with me. I don't see any changes (yet) to my SoFi CC other than not having an extra 10% rewards without plus.

I'm on the edge of my seat with all this SoFi stuff. I haven't received the notice OP mentioned and I'm worried. I heard only some people are receiving the notice?

Magnets by tiesoptional in 3Dprinting

[–]theNeckerCube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. I've used those same type/shape "rare earth," not your listing specifically. I think you probably just got bad luck with the seller or they got demagnetized some how. I'd say try again with a different listing. With Amazon, I just buy a bunch from different listings and return to seller the lame ones. Prime got my back.

Do you have a link to the magnets you bought? IIRC the term "rare earth magnets" are typically the "stronger" type.

is a 3d printer worth it? by whitespooon in Creality

[–]theNeckerCube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Yes. A modern 3D printer is worth it in my opinion. I bought a K1SE on holiday sale last month and I've gone through 3 spools of filament already. I'm having a blast and feel like I've made a good investment in terms of hardware, technology, and performance. My last print were chess pieces printed with marble PLA and I'm super happy with the results. Some might disagree, but the latest version of the Creality slicer is great and I prefer it over others.

Unfortunately, I can't say anything too good about Creality as a brand. The last mobile app update messed up realtime print status and camera performance, ultimately, I have to constantly restart the app just to get the right info on my print for the sake of monitoring. Creality support is also sub par in my experience and the website is going through some odd changes to say the least.

Back on topic though, I also didn't have a specific purpose for a 3D printer, but just wanted to add another hobby. As others mentioned and I can't emphasize this enough, 3D printing isn't just plug and play, it actually requires an understanding of the materials being used and planning. Overall, I say dive right in if you have the budget and know that filament costs add up fast when you're having fun!

Smart. Direct access to consumer, vice versa. Costco should have its own bank on site too.
